3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Enjoyed a draft at Basso’s in St Louis. A very solid effort by 4 Hand brewery. While saissons are not for everyone, those who like saissons will enjoy this. Much better than its class ranking.
Bottle at 5 year. Yellow gold, white head. Aroma is yeast, apple, pear, herbal / floral notes. Flavor is yeast, pear, bitter citrus rind, spices, lemon. scarletfire65 (1534) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2016
Bottle at home. Very clear and deep golden pour. Thin head, dissipates quickly. Pear and yeast on the nose, and warm bread dough. Light bodied, good carbonation. Tastes soapy, yeasty, plenty of white pepper, light funk. Crisp, dry, peppery finish. hopdog (13258) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2016
22oz bottle. Poured a golden color with an averaged sized head. Fruity, some funkiness, spices, and bready. Pears. PanMarek (465) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 19, 2015
Golden, thin head, fizzy. Dry, spicy finish. The pepper is complex and varied. The pear juice perhaps countered the pepper. A refreshing taste that faded as it warmed. A good starter and a good American version of the type. wlajwl (7211) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - DEC 11, 2015
Aroma is Belgian yeast, light bubblegum and spices. The flavor is Belgian yeast, pears, spices, malts and a tart/slightly warming finish.

Too dry, too peppery and acidic, not even remotely sweet or fruity - where was the pear?! crajun (1273) - , Texas, USA - JUL 5, 2015
bomber from strykzone; very nice saison... yellow pour with fizzy head. easy to drink - it was hot today and no ac so perfect beer for the afternoon - yeast, citrus, slight tartness. No way I knew there was pear in there before reading the bottle, but it added a nice touch to the brew - less of a beer, but a good drink if that makes sense; slightly drying at end. tmoreau (4743) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2015
On tap at the Beer House Chicago in Lombard, IL. as a 5 oz. serving dispensed to a flight/fest glass, displaying a clear, light gold, almost straw color, with a modest layer of white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was lightly floral, subtle yeast & spice, with esters as pear, with some sweetness, and a bit of tartness. Light to medium bodied, with lively carbonation, the taste was similar notes, with a touch of orange zest showing up for the flavor, some dryness, but no noticeable hop bitterness. Quite flavorful & bright. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2015
Pours a very clean golden/orange color with a modest low white head. Aroma has a strong pear nose, light citrus zing to it with just a touch of very light farmhouse funk at the finish. Flavor is sweet with pears, apples, white grapes coming through in the tasting early. This is followed up by a smooth spicy note. The description says pepper but I am not getting a peppery flavor more coriander-ish than pepper. Body is smooth with very fine carbonation providing a bit of a sharp tongue tickle. Overall a very good brew. Lots of flavor for a 6% beer. jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - DEC 13, 2014
Sampled during RBSG. From notes. Dry and yeasty with a whole mess of citrus.
