Had an aged version at the brewpub that clocked in stronger at 9.2%. Dark brown w reddish accent. Thin head. Smells smoke/peat, lots of toffeeish malt, the taste is rich and syrupy. Light smoke. Intense. Really nice dessert beer. Rangi (672) - NEW ZEALAND - JAN 18, 2013
Murky deep brown poor with a slight off white head. Really nice deep flavours from the malts. Sweet, flavours of molasses and treacle but well balanced as in after one drink I could have had another. On tap at GABS, the Local Taphouse in Sydney. Pours a dark copper, with a small tan head. Aromas of whiskey and roasted malt. Flavours of raisin, vanilla, toffee, roasted malt and a strong whiskey flavour. Very smooth.
