Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. Poured a rich amber with minimal carbonation and a frothy, off-white head. Spiced grass aroma. Not enough hops for the "Hoppy Ale" on the label. Had an unusual floral, grassy taste. Hard to describe, but I’m not a fan of this beer. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - OCT 23, 2013
Was expecting a little more hop to this one, considering the name. Pours a nice clear amber color. Spices really take the forefront here. Getting some savory ginger type notes. Some pepper two. A little metallic note as well. Tasty, just mis-named for me. Niko100 (2978) - Chicago, New York, USA - DEC 13, 2013
Hazy amber color; Medium body; Aroma of caramel malt, juniper, & fruit; Flavor of slight sweet malt, some yeast, hops, fruit, and spice; Finish is slightly tart; Strange - but interesting. edgallow (4362) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 15, 2014

Pour on tap, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, bread, hints of grass, herbal notes, touch of floral character into a bit of yeast, spice. Taste is a mix of grass, bread, some herbal and floral notes into hint of hoppy spice, finishing relatively dry, slightly bitter.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2016 At Rockwell’s. Slightly cloudy amber colored beer. Interesting herbed and spiced. Piney and peppery with a solid but appropriate amount of hops. Nice. Serving: Tap Tmoney99 (14846) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Draft. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop, and over the top herbal aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium herbal bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Not my style. dwm1034 (785) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Bottle at Trattoria 10 in Chicago....pretty hip place for a craft beer. Anyway, it was sort of a disappointment. Very mild hop nose and initial taste....some interesting tastes...guess that’s the Tasmanian pepperberry....but overall without a major APA nose or taste... crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 10, 2013
Teh spices make it almost smoky and it didn’t do it for me on a hot summer day. cheap (6006) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Smells are creamy and smooth, almost can’t describe it. Yes, from the first taste I say its creamy too! One of the more really creamy beers I’ve had for a while. Good creamy overall beer experience, yes creamy. Weirdly creamy, but interesting and fun. Liked this.
