From the July 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark nut brown color with a huge foamy beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was malty and nutty with a hot pepper presence. The flavor was tangy, malty and a touch skunky with notes of nut and hot peppers. The finish was medium length tangy, nutty and hot pepper. Medium body. Odd. jason1970 (143) - Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Didn’t know what to expect, but really wanted to try this dark ale from local 5 Rabbit Cerveceria. The toasted, malty caramel and sugar aroma with a very slight ancho chile comes through. It’s a dark reddish hue with a very small head that dissipates quick and leaves very little lacing. Taste is of very slight brown sugar and the ancho chile. Not spicy per se, but it teases your tongue.
Overall enjoyable and glad I tried it. Something local and out of the ordinary. beerisgoodforu (992) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a beige head. Aroma is of smoked chili, caramel and toffee and some dark fruits notes with cocoa bean. The flavor follows the nose with subtle chili spice and the smoked chili flavor, some caramel, toffee, dark fruits and cocoa bean. The body is medium with a silky mouth feel. Overall an interesting brew. DWestrick (758) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 9, 2013

Dark amber pour with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and dark fruits. Medium-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, peppers and figs. The finish is malty up front with a mild peppery aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Dark amber pour with a brown head that totally went away. Aroma is malt and a hint of spice. Taste is malty, a little smoke and spice. OK flavor. The pepper is detectable as the beer warms. An ok beer. Bluehentom (6) - - APR 26, 2014 does not count
Great color, a aftertaste of slightly spicy ness. Aroma was tame. Overall it was above average , but not one of my best.

From the tap poured a dark amber color with a small amount of head. Strong malty flavor with a lingering finish. PorterPounder (7965) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2014
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Pours a lazy dark brown, little to no head. Aroma has some interesting earthy notes with some peppers and topsoil. Flavor is earthy as well with some bittersweet baker’s chocolate, some peppery accents, a touch of day old black coffee. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it. Not half bad. Pours a very dark brown color with a modest, quick fading, light tan head. Aroma has a sweet molasses and malty nose, light toasted notes with a touch of chocolate. Flavor starts off with a very sweet molasses kick followed up by a nice sweet/toasted malt combo and finishes with a light peppery touch. Body is low in carbonation, smooth with a light sugary feeling and light heat from the pepper. Overall not a bad brew. The pepper doesn’t dominate the flavor and add just a touch of heat which works very nicely with this brew.
