COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beer that captures the summer fun of Paletas, the Spanish word for "popsicles". Brewed with Brazilian guava, pink peppercorn, tarragon and orange blossom water, this sessionable wheat beer is a more sophisticated alternative to shandies and radlers.

#1 - Guava with pink peppercorn and tarragon

On tap at the Crafty Cow in Oconomowoc. Pale pink pour with a bit of an off-white pink tinged head. Aroma and taste are sweet and tart guava, a touch of grain and a touch of spice. Light. The nose is better with the guava promise. Shrug? A bit of a "juice" presence to it. Light-to-medium bodied. Finishes lightly sweet & tangy. Interesting summer brew. 12.3

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2016 Bottle .Light aromas of grain, cereal and guava. Head is small, frothy, white with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing to a small ring. Color is murky pink. Flavor starts lightly to moderately, and finishes lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation. An okay Fruit Beer with a nice guava presence, but it tastes more like flavored seltzer. Could be considered a Berliner Weiße too.

Draft - Sweet guava and a touch of tartness. Light hazy pink with a small white head. Light guava and a nice finish. Juice me than beer, but still good.

GOt it with an alias "Guava Wheat". Was nice, not so guavy. NIce wheat sour hints and easy to enjoy.

Aroma is guava/fruit and spices/slight vegetables, while the appearance is a lot more pink lemonade than traditional beer. The flavor is guava, tropical fruit, grapefruit, mild fruit sweetness, wheat and a slightly spicy/heat/tart in the finish.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered pink-red body. Really has a nice depth of fruit and spice flavor, but the body is a little thin and dry. Could go a little heavier on the guava. OK, but not as enjoyable as some of the other paletas. Kind of artificial but enjoyable aroma.

Bottle - It’s pink. It smells good enough--like a light, fruity tonic water that I can only assume is guava. The taste is decent but a little flat. Has an aspirin-like drying quality that melds okay with the fruitiness and some florals, but doesn’t have enough flavor to really do much for me. If I’m expecting a popsicle, here’s one of those times where I want a little more fruity sweetness.

phaleslu (10100) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2016
Draft at Igby’s, served in a pint glass. Pours a very turbid pink fruit juice color with a small white head that forms a lasting thick ring. The initial aroma here is a huge blast of guava, pineapple, and grapefruit. But then it mellows after a few minutes. There are some floral notes - tarragon and orange blossom, I guess - with dough, wheat, and just the faintest hint of peppercorn. Medium-bodied, with a doughy, dry, fruity mouthfeel. It’s never better than the first few sips but it’s a really unusual, memorable beer.

Sample at the "HOOOOFFHEEARRTTTTEEDDDDDD!" tasting on 11/09/2015. The beer is a cloudy pink grapefruit juice color with a medium fizzy pinkish-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of fruit, wheat and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of citrus, guava, herbal wheat and doughy malt. The finish is fruity with a citrusy aftertaste. Decent overall.
