On tap at the prado brewpub location. Slow pour, comes out dark copper with offwhite head and plenty of lacing. Big aroma of earthy Belgian yeast and sweet dark ripe fruits. Taste is complex- starts sweet (molasses and plum) offset by a sourness that was slightly off-putting. Bready malts take over from there. Body is maybe slight thin with some foaminess to it. Overall, a pleasant beer, but not one Iíd go out of my way for.
UPDATED: FEB 21, 2013 Brewvival Trip Beer 31. Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear red color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of tart fruits, bread brown sugar. A bit light colored for style, with a fine creamy head that has disappointing retention. As hoped, this is a complex, well-crafted beer. It is smooth but the high ABV is too obvious in the tasting. Brown pour with tan head and alce. Sweet molasses dominates aroma. Sweet molasses and toasted malt flavor. Medium bodied but a bit fizzy for me.

Appearance: Opaque, dark reddish-brown body with a fluffed, beige-colored head. Satisfactory lacing on the way down.
Smell: Notes of bready, toasty malts, moist sugars, fruit, spices, and booze, with the spice and booze scents being the more predominate of the bunch.
Taste: Blend of brown sugar and rock candy with a tasty of dry, crusty bread. Moderately sweet. Slices of banana washed in plum wine and peach schnapps. Notably spicy, akin to fresh ground cloves being administered to the glass. Some clear alcoholic heat all the way through to the dry, spicy, warm finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Ummm yeah Im gonna go ahead and say this is a good beer. Some Initech coffee in the nose with some caramel and spices. The alcohol makes itself known kind of like Milton when he doesnt get his paycheck. But it also has some FLAIR to it with a big dose of caramel and toffee. Comes out of the tap a deep, opaque coffee brown with a fairly thick light tan head. Malty aroma has tone of caramel and a hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Rich, crisp flavor has firm tones of malt, chocolate and caramel as well as an underpinning of apple brandy. Texture is rather smooth and fizzy, and leaves a good tingle and a bit of an alcohol bite.
