Comes out of the tap a hazy, barely translucent dark apricot with a fairly thick eggshell head. Wheaty aroma has an overtone of watermelon and a note of yeast. Flavor is wheaty with firm watermelon notes and bits of yeast and malt. Texture is firm and fizzy, including watermelon motes. Distinctive! Perfect for a steamy August day. Happy birthday, Gene Roddenberry!

Draft. Poured cloudy pale gold. Bit of watermelon on the nose, along with some clove and light banana. Created something of a tropical effect. More watermelon on the tongue, touch of citrus, some clove and spice. Sweetish malt. Light. Different, nice. Glad, though, that I had it in a flight and not in a pint.

Orange pour. Watermelon and wheat aroma. Touch of spice and banana fermentation character, strong wheat maltiness, and an unreal watermelon flavor with moderate sweetness. Unusual but nicely refreshing. A rather impressive beer. (Probably too much watermelon to be a session beer, but definitely interesting and delicious in sampler volume).

On tap @ 5 Seasons North. Girlfriend decided to get one as it was the last keg they had. Pint served with a watermelon wedge garnish. Hazy yellow/orange pour with a one finger white head, retained rather well. The first thing I smelled was a subtle nuance of watermelon, then some bready malts, but mostly watermelon. Drank like a good American wheat with some very clean watermelon flavors. Good carbonation. One of the better fruit beers I have had, very refreshing.

Hazy dark yellow with fizzy white head. Sweet grain aroma and taste with a big perfumey watermelon taste.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy coppery gold with a massive white head that took a while to fade- (bartender said it was a fresh tap so it was murky and high carbed). Aroma is earthy, watermelon, phenolic, slight soap but has a good sweetness. Flavor is wheaty, doughy with a nice crisp mostly clean watermelon character, slight toast and more phenols with more earth and a bit muddled overall. Weird stuff. Need to turn this into a lambic.

tap. Hazy golden, thin white head. not much as far as aroma goes. then after the initial sit, wow. tastes like watermelon bubblegum. nice wheat body, very flavorful watermelon character. Hello, ladies

Dull beige. Not much aroma. Perhaps watermelon, some thick malts. Too much malt for me, though the melon note is nice in the finish. The underlying beer needs work.

Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 4, 2009
Cloudy with interesting color. Almost murky. Not pink but does look like watermelon meat. Aroma is unexpectedly not fruity. Complexity comes from seed and rind and then post-nasal yields to fresh, clean watermelon. Soft carbonation. Surprisingly good. Nuanced with seed and rind bitterness. Thins in finish. Interesting fruit beer that is not too sweet. Fun.
