Name: British # Pale Ale
Date: January 05, 2012
Appearance: cloudy orange, fine off white head, bits of lace
Aroma: sweet malt aroma, light floral hops, touch of fruityness
Flavor: lightly sweet pale malt flavor, floral hops, balancing bitterness
Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 11/20
Score: ** /4
Appearance: Served up a clouded, dulled medium tan-hued body with a wispy, white head.
Smell: A note of earthy, spicy hop pellets well ahead of the bready, lightly biscuit-scented malts.
Taste: Biscuits and bread with a low sweetness, a bit lower than I’d prefer, honestly. Faint esters. Floral, earthy hops with a flavor of faded lemon. Medium level of bitterness. Dry, mildly malty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Well, it comes in at just OK for me, as, again, I’d prefer caramelly malt sweetness.
