chinchill (5224) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 17, 2014
[From Dec. 2011 notes]
arrived in a pint glass with a 1-finger dark tan head. The head had limited retention but left a lasting ring; no lacing left, however.
Plenty of good coffee flavor in both the aroma and the taste ... Not as strong in terms of coffee, however, as Kona Pipeline Porter or Pisgah Valdez Stout. The coffee is well balanced with flavorful dark roasted malts, and there is a bit of spicy hops here too. Mildly bitter with a bit of sweetness.
M: medium body; notable heavier than, say, a typical Irish stout. Slightly dry. Very smooth.
O: a very fine coffee stout, with plenty of coffee flavor. kp (10881) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - FEB 25, 2012
