A: The pour is amber in color with a slightly off-white head that is quite fluffy.
S: A very nice spice note to the nose along with a fair amount of earthiness and some citrus. A touch of funk and a nice grape fruitiness along with just a hint of tartness.
T: The beer is fairly sweet with a good malt component as well as some fruit character: citrus, pears, and sweet apples which goes nicely with the spiced quality. The wine barrel contributes a bit of grape and tart flavors.
M: Medium body with a moderate yet creamy, rolling carbonation.
D: One of the best beers of the day. Really tasty and possibly the best Saison I’ve had. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - JUL 3, 2010
Hazy dark golden with a fluffy white head. Barn yard funk up front followed by a red wine and oak presence with subtle vanilla and caramel to round it out. Good silky bright palate with fine carbonation. Excellent. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - APR 24, 2010
