COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
That’s right, the first seasonal offering (of many to come ) from (512) Brewing Company was brewed this week. It’s a Robust Porter brewed with Pecans. Look for this beer to be released sometime in late October - We can’t release it until there’s at least a hint of cool weather in the air! This nearly black Porter is made with US 2-row and Crystal malts along with Baird’s Chocolate and Black malts. Mild smooth hop bitterness is contrasted with sharp black malt bitterness. It has a full body and malty sweetness balanced with subtle pecan aroma and flavor from locally grown pecans. Yet another true Austin original!

12 oz, on tap. A very good, refined porter. A finished product. Not the kind of watery porter that slips off your tongue. One with more of a thicker mouthfeel.

Originally rated on 2/16/09. Tried this one on tap at Opal Devines- Penn Field location. Decent looking black body, head was thin but left decent lace. Aroma of mostly chocolate, with hints of coffee and pecans. Flavor was similar to the aroma, however no flavors were really dominant, they were all kinda on the light side. Mouthfeel was decent and the alcohol aftertaste gave it a slight warming feel after finishing. Overall it was a decent porter.

Black draft pour at moonshiner. Pecan and cocoa flavors. Nutty and chocolate. Good stuff

Scopey (14766) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 12, 2016
Keg at Yardhouse, Houston. It pours darkest brown, near black with a sturdy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, plenty of toasted nuts, a good hit of coffee, treacle and cacao nibs. The taste is bitter, dry roasted malt, toasted nuts, earthy, pecan pie, chewy malt, coffee grounds, cocoa, fudge, toffee and a bit of alcohol. The finish is dry and toasty. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Could be done with a bit more depth, but it’s pretty decent anyhow.

Quite dark, opaque, tan head. Honey, floral notes, some espresso, dark chocolate. Predominantly sweet with some bitterness. Quite a lot of acidity, cloying oily body, really coats the mouth. Not a huge amount of carbonation. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
