Had off draft at wob cap hill. Big fruit and chocolate aroma. Heavy brown lacing. Syrupy like mouthfeel. Sips with high alcohol, coffee, and dark fruit. Mild carbonation and bitter flavors. Creamy palate and very warming. Alcohol is highly present as it warms. Finish is where the Raisin really comes through. Full bodied and viscous.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dark roasted malt, dark raisins and a little chocolate. Flavour mirrors this, bringing out loads of dark roasted malt and raisins. Very deep, with no residual sweetness at all. Almost burnt on the finish. Great stuff. Shared by a guy at work. Honestly I would have been pissed as to the method he received the beer. Bought through Lets Pour, but came in a plastic container with a printed label. Not sure if this was indicated on the site, but a plastic growler? Really? Burnt coffee, plums, other dark fruits, roast, some cookie, but heavy on the charred roast. Draft at ebp. Pours buh-lack with a dense and creamy burnt tan head. Lots of sheeting lace. Big roasty nose. Bar notes claim chocolate wheat along with oatmeal and raisin, and that seems legit, but this comes off way more on the roasty side than the cookie side, even though you’re thinking cookie all the way from the tap to the bartop. Creamy thick body, nice carb, no stickiness, no flabbiness. Roasty mid palate for sure. Toasty black bread crusts. Soft oatmeal raisin cookieness peeking in, but it’s definitely playing second fiddle here. Long dry roasty finish.
