Cushiony pils malts coalesce with the wise Saaz spiciness in this balanced and authentic Helles-cum-Czech-style Svetle Lezak.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the bright golden haze.
-The Saaz is quite talkative here, elaborating on wooden and citrusy ideas, on top of the usual herbal spiciness.
-The soft effervescence serves the body ably.
-This is not the only Viennese "Helles" which is very reminiscent of Czech unfiltered Svetlés or Franconian Kellerbiers.
-This is so underrated, it’s depressing. This site is not used by nearly enough quality lager lovers.
On tap at the brewpub.
Tap at the brewpub, Vienna. Pours light cloudy yellow with a creamy, white foam head. Crisp dough aroma. Medium sweet flavor with a big bread and dough character, and light straw. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a creamy, smooth texture. Crisp finish, lightly bitter with more dough, mild straw, and faint citrus. Lingering bready dough. Solid lager. danielst (405) - AUSTRIA - NOV 29, 2009
On tap at the brewpub: This is really a hop-forward Helles: The aroma is grassy-hoppy, lightly berry-fruity with a touch of citric acidity. Very low levels of butterscotch too. The flavour is super fresh, hemp-like and herbal hops with minerals and crisp, bready malts. A lean and drinkable mouthfeel, not really bitter despite the evident hoppiness. The only thing I’d like to change about this is the somewhat sticky aftertaste. Beggard (65) - - MAY 6, 2016
Malty, bit sweet aroma, light gold color with steady head. Mild polite malty taste with very light bitter ending. Stays on a tongue leaving refreshing touch. Nice summer beer. omhper (25153) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JAN 18, 2004

Hazy pale golden with rich firm head. Fairly sweet. Malty, soft and rounded. Grassy hops lead to a bitter, salty finish. A good helles, but the combination of sweet and bitter gives a light touch of metal.
Very good pale, dry, citrussy beer with lots of lemony hops and a good long bitter finish. Top supping beer. (Draught at Siebensternbräu, Vienna) pivnizub (10621) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUL 21, 2008
On draught at the brewpub: golden, firm lacy and creamy white head; solid hoppy (Saaz !) and sweet-malty nose; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, soft MF, light to medium bodied; distinctive sweet-malty finish with a hoppy-aromatic aftertaste. A very good Pils............. Koelschtrinker (20412) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 5, 2011

Tap @ brewery during RBESG 2012. A little hazy, golden appearance with a white head and nice lacing. Grainy, rich straw, fairly bitter floral hoppy aroma. Rich pale malty, a bit soapy/floral hoppy, straw flavor. KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 23, 2015
Draft at the brewpub. Cloudy, glowing gold with a medium, fine, pillowy head. Malty, slightly doughy nose, light grassy hops, a touch of lemon. Flavor is more lemony, also more doughy, herbal. Good. Light and crisp.
