Tap at the brewpub, Vienna, then a bottle shared at The Kernel, London. Pours dark brown with a creamy, light tan cap. Lovely smoke aroma, with light notes of cured ham. Flavor is bang on. Beautiful smoke, honey-cured ham, brown sugar, mild leaves. Medium bodied with fine, average creamy carbonation. Medium to long sweet-smokey finish, more honey and brown sugar, also some toast. Very solid on all fronts. Great character, great balance. MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 9, 2009

Within this sumptuous Rauchbock evolves smoked gouda, caramelized and bready cereals, all in a very drinkable and moreover succulent pint of wintry merriment.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy sheet of foam laces around the cloudy copper.
-The smokiness is evocative, yet is not as intense as Schlenkerla’s, which makes it more drinkable to me.
-All of their beers were served at the right temperature. Bravo!
-Carbonation is frothy from the tap, which in this case increase the drinkability.
-Some roastiness is tasted within too.
-The body is lusciously round and easy.
On tap at the brewpub and from a 1-liter bottle.
In short: A dense glass of very toasted and moderately smoked cereals. Kick-ass.Marko (6090) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - FEB 26, 2009
How: Bottle 1L. Bought on the premise by MartinT and consumed fresh within a few weeks. Tasting session with Montreal crew.
The look: Slightly cloudy amber body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Pleasant nose of smoked cereals, nothing extreme, just a very inviting cereals smokiness. Super nice body that is big and pillowy with a smooth carbonation. Taste of toasted cereals, bread crust, caramel, some smoke (less than in the nose), earthy notes and a hint of chocolate. Low hops presence but this is fitting here. Highly drinkable despite the nourishing body. Another fantastic brew from 7 Stern. I’ve only had two beers from this brewery but so far I can say something that my disadvantaged girlfriend will never hear from me, what a nice pair!
0.5l bottle a couple of friends brought from Wien (thanks a lot Ivana and Tomislav!), shared with ogivlado. Poured a lovely murky red body on top of which perched a bigh thick off white head that went away at a medium pace. The nose is simple but nice, buttery and smokey with light notes of alcohol. The taste is dominated by the smoke, reminding me of Dalmatian smoked bacon (panceta), built on top of a nice, very pleasant sweet maltiness with a light alcohol presence trailing behind. Somewhat buttery too. Fine mouthfeel. Sweetish, not too complex, but damn tasty. beerbuzzmontreal (3486) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 3, 2010
The pour reveals a cloudy brown color with a thin white head. The aroma is very appealing, when I smell the smoked malt, I’m reminded of smoked ham, there’s also a nice presence of caramel and fruits. The flavor is quite solid, again the smoked malt remind me of smoked ham, the caramel and fruits from the aroma are also there, those elements are well-balanced and work as a team. The palate is also pleasant, the body has a medium thickness while the texture is creamy and the carbonation moderate. I love rauchbocks and this one is outstanding.

Výčap 7 Stern. Tmavo hnedá farba, biela hustá pena. Vôňa údenej klobásky, anglickej slaniny. V chuti husté telo, jemne nasládlé, plné údenej klobásky a anglickej slaniny. Proste riadne zaúdené pivko, ktorého dochuť trvá šialene dlho. Chutné!
