Sample at the brewpub. Pours flat black with a medium thick light tan head that diminishes slowly. Patches of lace on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee, along with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium, smooth body with roasted malt and hops flavors. Some coffee and dark fruit is present too. Black color, brown head. Sweet, apple scent. Thin, malty, fruity taste. Medium thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.

through Tap lines at the KC brewpub .. . Pours a dark dark brown, light foam .. . pretty thin mouthfeel .. light roast, light oats .. . an ok oatmeal stout but pretty good for brewpub .. . . That horse had better win, or else we’re taking a trip to the glue factory. And he won’t get to come.

Sampled at St. Louis Microfest 2011 - pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has cream, smooth toasty oatmeal and cocoa. Medium smooth body with mild carbonation. The taste is a bit watery and has lightly roasty malt, mild bitterness and a hint of hoppiness. The finish has light dark roastiness. Just about black colored beer. Thin white ring head. Roasted malt aroma. Coffee and roasted nalt flavor. Nice bitter end. Kinda thin and sharp. Fi.d the oatmeal. Its there, just find it.
