On tap at the brewery. Comes out black with a brown foamy head. Too cold. Nose is sweet and a bit malty with mild chocolate nose. Taste is bitter, roasty malts with a slight chocolate undertone. Overall a bit thin but nice flavor on the end. drfabulous (7941) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - JAN 19, 2009
This must be what they called "Chocolate Assent" at the brewpub. Very faint taste of chocolate in a beer that closely resembles their Irish stout. Basic kit like beer. Gregis (1281) - Stilwell, Kansas, USA - JAN 11, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep, opaque brown (nearly black) with a tall tan head that diminishes leaving a ladder of patchy lace upon the glass. The nose is of sweet chocolate with light fusel alcohol and dark roast notes in support; fairly nice. Light-bodied and a bit thin for a sweet stout, it is very slick with a mildly tart and roasted finish. The flavor follows the nose with a slight drop-off due to the addition of an odd plastic-like note in the finish. Not a bad session brew.
