1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
light amber. smell is "hoppy" in some regard but very odd. kind of along the lines of "cat pee" which some hops get. malt quality tastes poor or mixed with corn or something. the strange smell, like if you rotted cascades in a trash bin and used them is overwhelming. it’s barely drinkable and for the price of one small can i could get a litre of slightly better korean BMC style beer.
after having this, i really wouldn’t bother with the rest of their stuff. it’s almost difficult to make a bad IPA.
Bottle. Hazy copper color with white head. Aroma - Malty, sweet, citrus. Taste - Lightly bitter, light sweetness, caramel, malt, orange. SJnoodles (7) - - OCT 28, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2017 Great price for good beer in Korea. Around 3 bucks per can. Hops is present. Dark amber color. Nice (lighter than most IPA) sour hops pale ale taste. Very refreshing and paletable. Queens Ale Amber is also a nice Korean beer, but less favor than 7bräu. Don't drink the swill. Ktwse (5675) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2016
Pours hazy copper with low off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and mild toffee. Taste is mild bready bitter up front followed by a smooth sweetness. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation. Sjeep (9) - SOUTH KOREA - FEB 25, 2015 does not count
More of a Brittish style IPA, lighter on the hops. Nice caramel body with slight bitter finish. Nice looking beer with it’s amber color. Not a great beer but definitely a pioneer in the Korean market. djones1911 (1) - SOUTH KOREA - FEB 2, 2015 does not count
Been in Korea for a little over 6 months and i haven’t had a good IPA for a while so this was a nice change to the typical Cass, Hite or OB, anyways, it has a nice amber color, however the taste isn’t very hoppy, its more of a pale ale taste. I’m coming from Odells IPA, Epics spiral jetty and many other amazing IPAs so its hard to hold this to those, but if your in the Korea area and want an IPA, this is one of your better bets. If you’re military you may be able to find a good Sierra Neveda, Rogue or Red Hook near base or sometimes on it, but don’t hold your breath.

Sampled on draft after accidentally stumbling Into the brewpub. Pretty decent when you haven’t had a decent beer in a while. nothing amazing. Kinda like a very old fairly bitter pale ale. Mild englishy earthy hop flavor with caramel and a bitter bite on the tail. But still, its Korea, so I really wasn’t expecting much. Scubasteve6969 (4) - - AUG 21, 2013 does not count
It’s not an IPA, more like a weak Pale Ale, but much better than the mass marketed Korean beers. Easy to drink, but not complicated or hoppy enough for the targeted market. KansaiBeerLvrs (5503) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUN 11, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2015 New Rating on tap at the 7Brau Gangnam. IPA 5.5% a clear copper with a light beige head. Very mild hop aroma. The taste is clean biscuity caramel malts, possiy Munich or Vienna with just a bit of a hop bite. Think an English IPA from 10 years ago. Safe & boring but not that bad. 3.3
-----Old Rating 2013---- 5.5% it pours amber with a light beige head of foam. The aroma is mostly caramel malt with a hint of hops. The flavor is light citrus, big malty sweet body and a mild acidic, slightly bitter finish. An ok beer but no way is this an IPA. More of a brown ale or possibly a watered down UK type of IPA from 10 years ago... Unfortunately, that aftertaste seems quite sour and not so pleasant. A shame for the first canned microbrew widely available in South Korea... Other than that aftertaste it wasn’t half bad... Original Score 2.7
