Draft… This beer rocks!… Pours nearly black with glimmers of burnt orange and a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is a fantastic collection of chocolate, almonds, cherries and dark fruits with a trace of vanilla. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor is a decadent swirl of chocolate, dates and raisins with a subtle pinch of salt. Finishes toasty and mildly salty. There is so much going on here and it totally works for me. Another world class effort by the folks at 7venth Sun with plenty of help from the creative folks up at Highland Brewing Company.

On draft at 7venth Sun, pours a dark brown, almost black with earthy chocoalte, some roast, light fruit, and some rasinettes. Flavors follow the aromas, light on the palate for a porteer, there is a nice roast and chocolate covered raisin flavors comming trough, solid porter.

Tap at the brewery. Dark pour with a small cream head. Yeast, slightly sour, very mild roast. Decent stuff, and quite a bit going on here.

Sample pour at the brewery. Deep amber brown pour with light head. Nose is light caramel, toasted, Belgian yeast... Flavor is similar with caramel sweetness and bubble gum. Sweet and smooth, palatable and drinkable.

What an interesting brew! The nose on this one was lightly nutty, with an earthy chocolate note, and some roast and light fruit. Taste is similar with a bunch of complex flavors - almonds, cherry, chocolate, roast, and a lightly salty feel to it. Good stuff!

Golden growler courtesy of jcartamdg. Pours a hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is some light roast, chocolate, salt, raisins, and nuts. Flavor follows the nose with the raisins really coming out in spots, the chocolate emerging at different times, and the salt kind of coming out and receding in the flavor profile like a 6th grader at a middle school dance. Interesting beer. Medium in body and one to ponder for sure.

Golden Growler
Appearance - Deep, murky brown
Aroma - Leather, tootsie rolls, old coffee
Taste - Peanut M&M’s, pretzels, cocoa

This was an interestingly complex brew. Lots of roasted malts and pretzel flavors with hints of chocoalte taste like, well... trail mix.

Pours dark brown, no head. Aroma is crazy, Chocolate peanuts, salt. Taste follows, just like its name. Trail mix in a glass. My only knock is it’s a little thin, but still a awesome beer. The plus side is that it’s really drinkable. This is what I wanted snack attack to taste like, 7venth Sun nailed it with the help of Highland.
