3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft… Clear, dark, burnt-orange ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose furnishes some very nice notes of milk chocolate, fudge and toasted nuts, fringed by a hint of leather. Medium to full-bodied with Key West carbonation. The flavor is malty and chocolaty with a hint of caramel. Balanced nicely by an adequate hop bill. Malty, nutty finish. Just a simple, malty, chocolaty beer. Well done.
Color is of prune juice, opaque and maroon. Aroma is dry red wine. Taste is buttery, brown sugar, plums and grape skins. Large taste of mineral water. The water flavor really stands out. Palate is a little thin. OmegaX (1383) - Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Another nice one from 7venth Sun. Aromas consisted of prunes, brown sugar, brazil nuts, tannins, and chocolate. Body is dark brown with a big tan head. Flavors follow suit with tons of brown sugar, nutty flavors, some roast, chocolate, and leathery qualities. Very interesting and nice. Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2012
A big thanks to Brett for making sure I got to try this one. The body has a murky, brown hue to it with a thick tan head. Aromas are earthy and sweet; some nice toffee and graham crackers are there with a hint of yeast. The mouth feel is thin and tastes just like brown sugar and yeast with light spices in the background. Nice! burg326 (5628) - Florida, USA - JUL 2, 2012
On draft, poured a copper color, aromas of toffee, earth, and some nuts. Flavors are the same as the aroma, nice beer overall, didn’t taste as boozy as the abv suggests. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAY 30, 2012

Pours a deep dark brown. Aroma is slightly muted. Slight chocolate and sweet malt in the taste. Smooth and easy to drink. I'm not a big fan of browns but this is a nice beer, I can definitely appreciate this for what it is.

Tap at 7venth Sun. Pours a deep ruby to brown. No retention or lace. Chocolate, estery nose. Taste is banana bread, sweat, PB&J, some husky malt and peanut shells. Very strange. Not sure how, but the hazelnut version of this was absolutely 100x better. Still, I’m thinking wrong yeast strain or wrong fermentation temperature that makes their "Belgian" attempts to be super estery like a hefeweizen. Draft at the source. Clear maroon, bright white edge head. Aroma of toasted chocolate and caramel. Taste is dilute coffee and cocoa. Decent. rbrazell (1763) - Florida, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Draft at Oblivion. Pours a muddy brown with almost no head. Aroma of nuts, sweet maltiness, baked bread and light fruits. Flavor is very similar in nature with a touch more fruitiness to it. Medium bodied and well hidden alcohol. I shit you not, it tastes like maduro on steroids.
