Leighton (21239) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2016
Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014 - Red Session. Pours clearish black-brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds dark malt, light peat, cocoa, soft roast. Medium to big sweet flavour with thick, rich dark sugars, hearty cake, dates, raisins. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with notes of burnt toffee, honey, charred wood, earth, more raisins. Rich, decadent. Really good.

Tap at CBC 2014. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Heavy malty aroma. Starts intense malty, notes of strong coffee, some wood and bitter chocolate. Quite roasty. More and more spicy. Finish softer malty, warming. Good one!

Aroma is blackberry, oak mineral and sweet unrefined sugars, bourbon barrel. Flavour is earthy wood, bourbon, alted caramel, some funky dirty farmyard. Plate is full bodied, oily, semi-sweet, pretty drinkable.

Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 16, 2014
On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. This is a near clear looking bronze colored one. It has a small light beige looking quite lacing head. Smells like a dark well hopped IPA. Really grassy and dark roasted malty. I get rye and blood orange citrus. Some grapefruit ad well. Really pungent sharp hoppy this. More rye, some sweet brown sugar but it’s really bitter this. Light gliding and oily in the mouth. Dark sugar finish and a lingering bitter slightly roasted aftertaste. Really well masked abv. Yeah, this is nice! 03.05.2014

CBC Session 3. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth with good fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts run through with an estery sweetness. Touches of coffee and chocolate cake. Light dry finish. Very light on it’s toes but the esters start to grate a bit.
