Bottle @ Summer Gathering, Ulfborg. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich hops, roast malt, caramel, flowers and pine. mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 16, 2012
500mL bottle, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. The nose is pretty much a mix of a scotch ale, a barley wine and an IPA, with caramel malts, dark fruits, and a mild hop presence somewhere underneath - hinting at a fairly high sweetness - also some metallic notes. Flavour is much hoppier and IPA-like than the nose suggests, with caramel malts and maple syrup as the backbone, and some mighty pungent hops screaming out on top. A fairly pronounced hop bitterness lingers on the finish. Not sure I understand the intention of mixing these three styles and also not sure it works overly well. Interesting experiment at least. chrisv10 (18211) - DENMARK - AUG 18, 2012

Brown color, good beige head, some lace. Resiny, a bit woody aroma. Full-bodied. Resiny hoppyness, salted licorice, Some alcohol, lingering bitterness. Some caramel and vanilla too. Plesant.
Bottle, at TFODRBSG-12. A clear looking dark brown beer topped by a dense, light beige head leaving some lacings. Lovely hoppyness in the aroma, pine cones, resins and some grapefruit, along with some caramel, roasted notes and malty sweetness. Caramel, some roasted notes and most of all, hops in the flavor. Nice bitterness, as well as pine cones, grapefruit peel and some citrus. Full-bodied. A quite lovely one, certainly one I’d very much like to have more of. 120818 jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2012

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma is sort of a Vienna with leather. Med body. Flavor is a confusion. Definitely quite bitter. Certainly lightly smoky. I just do not know how to dissect and describe this very beautiful ale. Lovely stuff. Ratman197 (15204) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 23, 2012
500 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish amber with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, tobacco and light toffee. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, toffee, earthiness, tobacco and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering earthy toffee finish.
