Bottle from The Lighthouse in NC. I was exciteded to try this one even though it was priced at $10.99 for a 16.9oz.. I love Imperial Reds, sadly this one I found to be far too malty. I look for Imperial Reds to be hoppy and spicy and malty. SirLimpsalot (4421) - SWEDEN - JUL 9, 2012

50 cl bottle @ home.
The hop profile isn’t as intense anymore, which was to be expected of course, some toffee has appeared, mild alcohol burn and lots of caramel. The fruits have ripened a bit too. Quite creamy palate, ripe fruits and caramel on the taste. Nice warming alcohol kick at the end. So a small step towards barley wine, which makes it slightly tastier for me. Reminds me of Nøgne Ø #500 a bit.
50 cl bottle @ vPBF.
Pours clear red-brown color with small head. Aroma of hops, mild fruits, malts, caramel and some hay. Flavor of malts, caramel, fruits, mild hops and toffee notes. Decent but definitely not awesome.
Bottle 50cl from fonefan thanks. A dark ale with good pale brown head. nose is intense on aromatic hops such that exotic fruits, melon, light resin, sweet notes. Aroma basis is on a brown ale with sweet body and intense hops aroma on, resin, licorice and lichee. Modern hoppiness ... nilsas (4405) - Bryne, NORWAY - MAY 8, 2013
Godt syrlig øl. Friskt på smak med en søtlig duft. Et godt øl i sommervarmen og til grillmat.

In short: ROBBED!
Appearance: Dark and subtle red color with a frothy tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Fruity and deep malty.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet and a harse deep bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Rich fruity and lots of malt.
Overall impression: I have been robbed. The price was hilarious, but everbody has said that this one was outstanding. So let it be. But I should have had this one many months ago. All the hopps had gone to an harse unbalanced hop hell. But the taste actually got better when it got warmer.
Personal stats: Bottle from Håndtverkerstuene in Oslo, Norway.
24/05 A 0.5l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! It poured slightly hazy brown body with medium sized head. Fine, lightly sourish hop aroma, also fruity and coffee malty, dark fruits with sourish component of its own, as well. Flavor was lightly sweet, woody and cappuccino malty, slightly sourish in coffee and vinous way towards the end. Some yeast notes, along with weird hopiness as well. Medium bodied. Although a bit messy, it was very fine but most definitely didn’t impress me. stchloe (1104) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Nice and strong like an IPA meets an Imperial stout. Hop profile balances smoke scotch notes and strong coffee dark malt body. Miksu (5053) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - SEP 13, 2012
0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Dark reddish brown. Perfumed, citrusy and a bit soapy aroma with raisins, almonds. Bittersweet nutty taste with lcaramel, lemon and raisins, . Full bodied. Fairly caramelly and a bit soapy, not my kind of beer. radagast83 (8299) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - NOV 29, 2012
Bottle provided by argo0. Thanks! Poured a copper-amber color with a small white head. Aroma was light, sweet malts, some caramel. Flavor was light caramel, sweet malts. That’s about it.
