500ml bottle in a plastic cup. Pours brown with a lacy head. Aroma of caramel and chocolate malts, coffee, and some floral hops. Flavor the same with a good blend of coffee, floral hops, and malts. Average texture. A pretty good brown ale.
Pours a dark copper brown with a frothy tan head that lingers long. Generous lacing. Nose is malty with earthy notes of coffee minerals. Taste is quite well-balanced. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, malt and caramel.
Medium bitterness followed by a sweet flat white coffee palate.

Bottle from Stew and Oyster in Boston Spa. Pours hazy brown with a thin cream head. Surprisingly little in the way of aroma. The taste is nutty at first with a little spice before lots of ashy coffee in the dry finish. A little thin bodied but a great brown ale.

Pours a nice clear brown with tan head. The aroma is full on (in a good way) with a big boozy hit along with coffee and chocolate. Big coffee taste along with sweet malt. I seemed quite thin in mouthfeel to me. So others say chewy, I wish I got that because that is was seems to be missing for me. Fairly low carbonation. If you’re interested in styles, not sure that I really fits a Brown Ale more Brown IPA. Good but had higher education expectations after tasting some of their other beer. Aroma is deeply roasted malts, caramel, toffee, fig, vanilla and coffee. Taste is chewy sweet roasted malts with coffee , chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Light tartiness on finish. Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours darkly ruddy with a slight beige head. Light coffee aroma with some complex hop. Med body or better. Flavor is moderate coffee, hops mostly from under the Southern Cross, and some mild darkish malt. Not exactly dry; lightly bitter. Flavors are complex, and arguably subtle. Not sure how to view this, so benefit of the doubt. Good drink. I mean it tastes nice, but what am I supposed to think about it? BoD!
