Bottle @ the bottle shop, Be(e)rmondsey. Terrificly balanced coffee ale. Medium body, lots of roastiness and hoppiness. Hint of sour red fruit. Mocha and creamy chocolate likewise. Andrus86 (641) - Busselton, WA, AUSTRALIA - NOV 3, 2014
BOTTLE. Shared RW. Cola brown in colour with small beige head. Coffee is real strong on the nose. Malty up front with the coffee just kicking your taste buds, finishing very strong and thick with a burnt malt & bitter finish. Christpuncher (3109) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 17, 2014
just a spectacular coofee brown ale. perfectly balanced hopps, coffee and nut flavor makes this one seriously crushable. It is hard to believe it is 8% alcohol. pours almost black in color with a thick tan head. smells like coffee. what a great beer from new zealand...they have figured out how to use hopps. Bottle. Pours a deep clear amber-hued nut brown body with a small off-white head. Nose is caramel, nougat, mocha, coffee, maple syryp and hints of brown bread, biscuits and hazelnuts. Quite lovely. Taste is caramel, burnt sugar, coffee, nougat, hazelnuts, grains, brown bread, biscuits and hints of maple syrup, herbs and pine. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. A lovely autumn beer concept, this brown ale with coffee. Almost weird that so few breweries seem to have come up with the idea, at least around these parts of the woods (Norway). Very tasty indeed, perhaps the best from 8 Wired so far for me. Fwldennis (8) - - OCT 24, 2015 does not count
Nice hoppy taste without being too bitter. Nice mix of floral Flavours balanced with coffee taste. All the Flavours are balanced and neither overwhelms each other. Has also a slightly malty taste, though it lesser than the other Flavours

On tap at The Trappist, Oakland. Pours very dark brown with an attractive clinging tan head and a coffee aroma. There is a hearty coffee and treacle flavor with a bit of anise and a dry finish. Very tasty. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - AUG 7, 2012
On tap at the Trappist. It pours a very nice dark ruby red with khaki foam. The aroma is earthy, woody hops. A tad floral with some red fruit and a decent amount of coffee. Very refined. The flavor is huge coffee and earthiness with some strong floral/spicy hops. Some caramel and molasses. A complex and tasty brew. The mouthfeel is very full. Brewticular (86) - - AUG 12, 2012
A very nice pour with a cream color head. Pretty good flavor but I can never get past a beer that tastes like someone added a pot of coffee to the secondary. I prefer the flavor coming from the malts and not the addition of coffee beans. Overall still a good beer, poured on tap at The Trappist. fletchfighters (1519) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 17, 2012
500 ML bottle
Pours a cola color and settled a dark brown color. Some nice ruby highlights with this. Half finger of light mocha colored film that fell to a nice film. Just bits of lacing.
Nice roasted coffee nose. Underneath is roasted malts and caramel. Sweetness is underneath the big coffee nose.
taste is warmed brown sugar, caramel, roasted malts and just subtle coffee and chocolate notes.
Medium feel and medium carbonation. Good lingering sweetness followed by a bite of coffee in the finish. Well balanced between brown ale and coffee. Leand more towards brown ale in the taste and feel and that is quite refreshing.
Nice, nice beer NBird (626) - Perth, West Australia, AUSTRALIA - DEC 14, 2012
Very brown brown almost black in colour, delicious dominant roasted coffee aroma, with a hint of hops. Tastes thick and creamy and the coffee is ultra rich, perhaps over balanced in the coffee direction, but it is sensational
