COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2013 Pours a nice amber colour. Aromas are honey and sweet malts. Lots of Hoppy, vegetal aromas as well. Flavours are sweet honey, some fruitiness, and then a nice bitterness. A touch watery - otherwise a solid IPA. Re-rate: my palate must have been affected the first time I had this. Aromas are fresh hops and greenery. Also some nice bright citrus aromas that turn to honey like malts after awhile. A nice sweetness up front, sweet clementines and honey, a dank grapefruit bitterness in the back. Nice lacing and long lasting foamy white head. Very nice.

Bottle at the Local Pub, Halandri, Athens. It is hinted that this ale is mainly hopped with Nelson Sauvin. Clear, filtered. Aroma: Pungent, piny as hell and citrusy. Some yeast, phenols, mould, grapefruit, berries, mango, pineapple... Outstanding combination. Mouthfeel: Firm, oily body. Taste: Very bitter with a solid malt base. Tropical and citrusy fruit. Herbal and nutty. Finish: Bitter, dry finish with pine resin flavours lingering. Overall: Awesome hoppy IPA.

Gyllene i färgen, vitt skum.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Auburn apperance. Attractive lacing. Sweet and bitter the way an IPA should be. It’s very fruity - maybe that’s why I like it. I like it. Done.

Wonderful large foamy head with lacing, reddish clear copper body. Aroma is sweet, passionfruit, smells like these Koala Springs pop I used to drink as a kid, well sort of, also a bit of citrus and pine, but quite fruity. Taste is initially quite malty, faintly resinous, nice bitter aftertaste. Definitely different than a typical American IPA. I enjoyed it.

Excellent beer, refreshing and tasty. Very fruity aroma to pineapple, mango, lychee and grapes. It continues in the mouthfeel. Long development, with an exquisite and hoppy, dry finish. Great.

Delikat!

From the Bottle, the first sip did this beer no favors, but improved on every subsequent taste. Hoppy, Malty and damn good. Dark orange pour with a white head. Aroma is resiny and citrusy. Taste is malty and hoppy, very good stuff.

AMAZING IPA. Its like I drink beer for the first time. Great aromas of fresh pine and hops. Super taste, with not so strong aftertaste. Very balanced between bitterness and aroma. Only thing they need to work a but more its the appearance. It deserves a more IPA color. Great beer.
