COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We believe HopWired is the first bottled version of a true new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown base malt and 100% truly unique NZ hops. We bet you’ll find nothing else like it on the shelves. Although the malty sweetness is there, this beer is all about the hops. Unlike an American I.P.A. which will mainly hit you with a grapefruity-citrus flavour and aroma, the unique NZ hops used in HopWired are more like a tropical punchbowl: Passion fruit, lime, oranges and Sauvignon Blanc to name but a few. A local Marlborough winemaker said it smelled like gooseberries... Gooseberries? Who has ever smelled a gooseberry?? Decide for yourself or just enjoy it without further complications. Cheers!

Amber, thick white head. Nose is heavy on the resiny hops with tropical notes, biscuity malt and caramel. Taste begins with malt with sweetish-caramel notes, then develops into a nice hoppy punch with spicy tropical fruits (mainly grapefruit) and a powerful, but delicate, bitterness. Finish is a return of the sweetish-bready malt mixed with resiny bitterness. Soft carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Good brew.

Brilliant amber/orange color. Big puffy white head. Slow to fall with plenty of lacing left behind. Nice bouquet of orange, passion fruit, slight citrus, caramel and malt. Citrusy flavor with a nice hop presence and a bit of biscuity malt. Prickly bitterness on the tongue with a slightly bitter and sweet finish. Very good.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2012 Pours deep gold into a Sam glass. White head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Pine and resin aromas. Thin with sweet caramel, toffee and tropical fruit upfront turning to grassy resin before the lasting citrus finish.

Pours a clear copper color with a long lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt with a huge amount of citrus and floral hops. Flavor of mostly floral hops with some light citrus/grapefruit hops with a decent amount of caramel malt in background. Very good.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2013 Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a clear golden orange with a small off white head. Nose smells amazing the citrus fruits, passionfruit & mango really jump out of the glass. Lychee and limes in there too. Taste just delivers what the aromas provide. Well balanced with the pine hops, citrus and malts combining well together. Lots of fruit (Nelson sauvin hop dominant). Just has that lovely lingering mango/peach bitterness which clings to the palate. Cant put my glass dowb. Amazing from start to finish. My favorite ipa!

Basunen: mycket fin humledoft men lite tunnare smak. Ok fruktighet men en lite för lätt eftersmak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
