COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beware, this is a BIG beer. Brimming with luscious roasted coffee and chocolate malt flavours which are balanced by a brisk bitterness and bold freshness from the hops. If you’re feeling politically incorrect try it with your favourite cigar, or a dram of your best single malt whisky. Or, if your tooth is sweeter, why not jump in at the deep end with the most decadent dessert of all; half a bottle in a glass with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (beer geeks like us know it as the Imperial Stout Float). Or simply enjoy it on its own as a decadent dessert or night cap - the perfect winter warmer! If you don’t already know the history of Russian Imperial Stouts please check it out on the internet, it’s a good story. But remember, although based on that century-old classic style, this beer is a very modern interpretation, like all our beers!

Pours an impenetrable pitch black with a modest tawny head. Sweet brown sugar & light fruitcake aroma - lovely! Bold, delicious flavour - soy, dark chocolate, espresso, opening up into balancing hop notes in the finish. Thick, creamy body and appropriate carbonation. Probably one of the most drinkable imperial stouts I’ve had in a long time.

Jet black pour with thin espresso head. Nice lacing. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa beans, residues of black pepper and some vanilla. Taste is upfront bittery and ashy in equal ratios, with the ash prevailing towards the end. Notes of coffee grounds, dark chocolate and cocoa. Where is the booze? Smooth and oily in texture, low carbonation. Extremely well rounded IS.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2017 Big rasin currant rum toasty roasty tar aroma with big frothy tar head and inky appearance. Looks perfect, tastes great too. Nice lacing. Silky smooth. Full tar, rum and raisin, coca and coffee mocha flavours. Somewhat smokey with imagery of back room bar. Great bitterness thoughout and also right to the end. Full flavour. Outstanding.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2017 Pours a deep black. Soft caramel head. Disipates quickly. The aroma has deeply roasted routes, roasted coffee beans and malt. First taste is almost salty like Marmite, helped along by the prominent alcohol volume. Later the palete adjusts to pick up smooth bitter chocolate notes that linger well after the bottle is finished. A wonderful stout, just make sure you have a good amount of time set aside to work through this monster of a drink.

Keg at Rake, Borough. Low key creamy choc. Initially sweet before more bitter coffee and berries comeThick. Creamy. Flat carb. Slightly astringent. Good!

From 2016 bottle in porter glass. Pours black with thin tan head and mocha/choc aroma. Rich and quite tasty with chocolate malt again at the fore. Smoother finish than many other i-stouts

mariuspoenari (2924) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - AUG 14, 2017
Pitch black pour, tar-like, with a tall tan head that is slow to rise to the surface - looks promising! Notes of roasted malts, ash, smoke, dark roasted coffee beans, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, dark, bitter cherries, soft caramel. Smooth texture, full, oily body, roasty and bitter finish. An amazing imperial stout, really nicely crafted.

Pours a freakin’ huge frothy, milky like head and leaves pretty thick lacing. Has a dark brown appearance, almost pitch black. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and nutty malts. Flavours are quite rich and varied with dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and some notes of toast and nutty malts. Fairly smooth and creamy mouthfeel. For a 10%abv beer, it’s really very well hidden, quite deceiving. Goes down way too easy. This one is pretty amazing and well balanced. Love it!

Rami Rami is drinking an iStout by 8 Wired Brewing Co. at Muzeum Azji i Pacyfiku Zadkakujaco lekkie jak na abv. Ale tez nie jakos intensywne. Alko schowane, polwytrawne. Zbozowe, palone, dobre, z plusem gwizdki

Aroma: 8
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and hops.

Appearance: 5
Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown/dark brown head.

Taste/Palate: 9/5
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, dark fruit and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts, coffee and hops.

Overall: 18
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Lovely to see so many North Zealand hops in an Imperial Stout. Very roasted at the same time, creating a lovely coffee at the end. Perfect appearance and palate as well and a great aroma.
