from Erzbierschof - bright ruby brown beer with no foam left; chewy malty nutty aroma, estery and with notes of red fruits; full-bodied, sweet and pretty tart; very tasty and lively; a solid bitterness and pretty dry, long nutty and red fruity finish with notes of warming alcohol jackafholmes (1024) - - JUN 6, 2015
Bottle from brewdog bar, Sheffield. Maroon with white head. Aroma of treacle, liquorice and chewy bready malts. Taste is deep umami and tangy sweetness with long lasting after bitterness. Full bodied with oil and medium carb. Very good beer. Hoponmate (309) - NEW ZEALAND - JAN 4, 2017
330 ml bottle. A thick and very complex beer. The nose is the only thing that lets it down. Smells a lot like a barley wine. Thick sweet caramel flavors. Continues into a very sweet vanilla taste. The rest is a woody smokiness to finish with a great strong almost sulatan sweet finish. A complex and strong ale that challenges what beer can be. Bottle. Extremely deep dark maroon, purple, brown color, small but thick tan head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, figs, plums, slightly burnt caramel. Taste is sweet and strong winter fruit with bitter resiny finish and substantial body. Very tasty. A big beer. SimplySike (1550) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - FEB 28, 2014

Pours clear dark amber with tan head.
Aroma rich, sweet, alcohol, honey, caramel, dark red fruits, toffee, some wood.
Taste sweet, caramel, sugar, tiny earthy, woody bitter.
Mouthfeel thick, oily.
awesome complex sweet beer.
Bottle at Barely Legal Tasting Room .
pours dark , unclear amber-red-brown .
Unmentionable foam .
Smell is sweet , very sweet malts ( think of an Old ale, Barley wine )
Taste is likewise . sweet, but a bit thinner than earlier mentioned styles . Also a decent amount of bitterness included . Very nice ! Carbonation is decent , low as it should be . Very nice beer !
Slightly metallic in the back , and could use more body at this ABV to be world-class , but I definetly don’t regret buying this one ! DutchDrebus (6328) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - FEB 18, 2015
Bottle @ home. Brown colour with no real head. Smells barley wine, roasty, dark malts, hops, almond, sweet, nice. Taste is the same as smell with a touch of alcohol. Very nice. Full body, soft carbo. Korcz (3388) - Warsaw, POLAND - NOV 1, 2016
Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Dym z ogniska, wędzone śliwki i morele, dąb, wanilia, kandyzowane owoce, toffi i fura chmielu. Piękne. Maris (1612) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 24, 2013
From a 330ml bottle on 25/8/2013 (batch 103, BB March 18). Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a smallish head. Has a quite a strong aroma of caramel and toffee. This one is a huge malt bomb featuring caramel, toffee, butterscotch, nuts and toast. along with curious dash of fruitiness as well. The smoke is there but it’s quite subtle. Finishes off with a pronounced, almost medicinal, hop bitterness. This comes across as a very big beer, with the 11% quite evident. The palate is quite syrupy and the carbonation moderate. Not a subtle beer by any means, but there is a hell of a lot going on with it. A very full on, complex offering, which is unsurprising from these guys. mkel07 (6549) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 25, 2013
330ml bottle. Very good beer with dark amber colour and a slight head. Big full flavour that goes down a treat.
