Pours a dark hazy brown with an amber tinge and a nice creamy off white head. Nose is some caramel smoked malts with a tinge of espresso. Nice thick mouthfeel. Caramel malt follows through, lightly hopped, long slightly bitter aftertaste. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 25, 2010
Tap. Great, unique beer. Aromas of grass, roasted caramel, and liquorice. Taste is sweet, with light bitter notes, and long lasting. Palate is velvety, with a medium body, and lively carbonation. Dark brown, with a frothy white head. Rulymel (290) - SPAIN - NOV 5, 2013
At glass, it has a great look, with its dark color and good consistent beige head. Good carbonation.
Aroma has a perfect balance of malt with hints of caramel, toast, coffee and chocolate.
Taste is equally intense, dominated by malt and a long, with dry hop notes finish. caesar (7098) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 12, 2011
Bottled from de Molen. Clear copper color, medium brown head. Aroma of soft citrussy hops, hint of caramel, slight grassy, bit toasted, hint of bread and biscuit. Quite bitter taste, good amount of sweetness. Very nicely balanced. Excellent stuff! JanLaursen (3227) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 3, 2011
Bottle: Dark reddish brown brew with a beige head. Delicious roasted and fresh hoppy aroma with notes of caramel and lots of tropical fruits and citrus. The taste is medium sweet and heavy bitter with notes of dates, licorice and fresh citrus. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonate. Long bitter finish. A brown ale far above the usual dull standard of the style.

Brown color with a dense creamy white head. Mocha malty aroma. Really rich and chewy malty flavor with coffee, cocoa nibs, and star anise. Subtle but fresh hoppy finish. tderoeck (9471) - Gent, BELGIUM - FEB 12, 2013

Clear red brown beer, big creamy rocky off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: quite some exotic fruits, pineapple, some caramel, bit sugary, chocolate.MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, exotic fruits, passion fruit, some pineapple, bit piny. Aftrtaste: pretty bitter, some caramel, fruity, dry, nicely hopped with American hops, bitter ending, more citrus. Really good stuff!
Lovely - warm chocolate-like malt notes, cut against by crisp late hopped aroma and bitterness. Very sexy indeed. bmeup (678) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - JAN 3, 2011
This is a very good clear dark bown ale, tight packed light brown head lasted forever. Slight burnt grain with a sweet appealing aroma. Hop and malt character is great. A little hoppier than usual BA and goes well with pork and apple pie. dwyerpg (6062) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 20, 2011
A bit of toffee in the aroma. Looks great. This is actually quite good. Smooth, with ahint of sweetness, not nutty at all. Pretty good stuff.
