At CBC. Poured dark reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma of sweet fruit, light funk. Light body, flavour is medium sweet and sour, refreshing.

Poured out black brown. 38 SRM.
Nose has all the elements of a Belgian lambic with hints of dirty straw and a dry woody acetic aroma. Hints of lemon juice in the nose as well.
Mouthfeel is juicy and dry. The palate has some solid pale and wheat malt flavors with raw wheat flour and dough. Astringent bitter flavor is fighting for dominance on the first approach and ultimately wins out with an astringent bitter, dry finish. The fruity flavor is that of an unripe plum with a tannin stickiness overlaid with a persistent sour.
Finish is woody, dry, and grape-skin tannins.
Overall, a successful barrel-aging experiment. With the flavors pinot melding very nicely with the dry lightly vinegary flavors of the lambic.

Pours a cola color with a very fluffy light tan head. Nose is lemony tartness, a little caramel, brandy, maybe a touch of urinal cake. Flavor is lemon sourness, caramel, vanilla, brandy, a little oak, a little dark malt roundness. Medium to light body, spritzy, leaves a tart but pleasant aftertaste. A little bit of a letdown to be honest. I don’t get much dark malt character or much barrel, and the sourness is nice but lacks a lot of funk or complexity.
