Tried from 500ml bottle in Auckland last week. Aroma true evidence of an abundant NZ hop profile, fruit and resin evident. The colour is amazing, almost matches the colour of the label which is a deep bright burnt red. Nicely balanced malt sweetness, rich toffee and caramel flavours balanced with the hops make this my new go to beer HoppyPete (27) - AUSTRALIA - APR 14, 2011
This beer has a great balance of malt and hops. A wonderful colour and rich flavour. Another great beer from a small NZ brewery Monchito_IPA (206) - SPAIN - JUN 6, 2014
Lo tiene todo. Color precioso, vivo. Espuma estupenda, abundante y persistente.
Bottle from King&Godfree. Great mixture of flavours. Aromas of caramel, grass, and vinegar. Taste is sweet, bitter, and sour; with long length. Palate is velvety, with a medium-to-full body. Copper colour, with a frothy head. Hop_Hedonist (628) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 22, 2014
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2014 Retaste - tap at The Norfolk - Biscuit malt dominant - enough hops to keep my interest - quite thick on the tongue with malty aftertaste. Tasty. A big beer which kicks sand in the face of lesser beers. Nice one even though not my preferred style - always quality from 8 Wired.

Bottle into tulip glass. Beautiful pour.....could grace a beer book cover. It looks inviting, red, slightly off white head, nice clarity. Spicy, some toast, honey, OMG, the flavor surpasses the nose, apricot, sticky sweet hops, dough, following a long bitter finish. Creamy mouth feel. This is really quite superb!! This is a very tasty beer. Beautiful ruby red colour. Well balanced malt profile. Very hoppy, citrus, fruity, tropical. Extremely easy to drink Japalo (1887) - DENMARK - DEC 26, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 20, 2012 Bottle. Reddish Brown haze. Two finger foam. Plenty of fresh grass, pine and citrus. Good rounded body. Well Well balanced dry-bitter taste with moderate finish. Again very surprised; the third highscore brew in a row from this brewer. My favorite brewer this year. Cheers. mgermani (1002) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 28, 2012
Pours a deep clear reddish mahogany with a moderate creamy head with great retention. Beautiful hoppy and sweet aroma, dark fruits and citrusy bitterness - wonderful! Strong malt flavour - plums, light molasses (fancy) and dark caramel with a fresh citrusy/piny hop finish. Good carbonation, moderate body. Really really nice!
