The beer you hold in your hands is the result of years of practise and refinement. I have brewed it every year since I started homebrewing, and it was one of the first beers I ever brewed. In fact before the mere thought of 8 Wired was conceived. I always knew that one day I would brew this beer commercially. Every year the Sultan has been different, but it is always Belgian inspired, of course with a large dose of sultanas. This bottle contains the fifth version of the Sultan. I finally decided to base it on a Belgian style Quadrupel. The sultanas are more present than before, and it is brewed with a hefty dose of pilsner malt, Belgian specialty malts, dark candy sugar and a funky yeast strain. Experience and enjoy it now, or mature it for years to come. I cant personally guarantee it, but I bet that it will get better with time. Soren Eriksen Brewer

Bottled. Nice raisin nose, caramel and chocolate. Very tart, fruity flavor, caramel, citrus edge, alcohol. Quite nice but doesnt seem like a real quad.

Bottle. Big sugary raisin nose. Medium copper color. Supersweet initial / some tart fruit in mid / finishes a bit thick and offers more sweetness. Heavy body. Full of intense sweet frutiness, and a bit of tartness. Good, if unexceptional.

19.03.2014, 0,5l bottle sampled @ BBGTC tasting:
Small shortlasting head. Aroma is sweet fruity, caramel malts, dried fruits, raisins, honey, butterscotch, citrus, dark sugar, almond cake. Taste is kind of medical harsh, caramel malts, harsh grass, dried fruits, paper, butterscotch, raisins, citrus peel, almond essence. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Intense. Pours a muddy brown with a tan head. Smells very malty, like raspberry fig newtons, with some hazelnut and maple syrup. More fig newtons in the taste. Very malty taste, cant drink too much, but tasty. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a ruby red/murky brown with a off white head. Nose dominant with dark fruits - plumbs, sultanas, raisins & Belgium yeast. Taste has a nice caramel sweetness backed by the dark fruit presence. Plumbs and raisins smash the taste. Quite full on. Sweet plumb bitterness makes up the after taste. Very chewy at the back end. Alcohol hidden well. Pretty interesting beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strong raisin, dark fruit smell, kind of has that funky smell you hear so many people talk about, spicy, beautiful afterteaste, awesome CO2, this one is a keeper for me. You dont taste the 10% ABV except for that little warm after the swallow, love this one.
