Absolutely beautiful. So much flavour and so so smooth it doesn’t have an overpowering taste of whiskey but it does have the subtile notes!!!

massingasetta (781) - München, GERMANY - SEP 11, 2014
A craft beer stout that does not really surpass the likes of Murphy, Guiness or Beamish. Perhaps an interesting alternative, but taste and volume wise not on par. Stout one needs to enjoy with the original.

Bottle at mum and dads, from Callans, 17/01/14. Light black with a good sized tan head that dissipates then stays for the parteee as a covering. Nose is vinous, oaky wood, dark berry fruit, tannins, toffee, light whisky strains, burnt sugar, touch of runner, cherry skins. Taste comprises bitter dark fruits, lactic ring, burnt caramel, vinous, Black Forest gateaux light. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying closure with subtle BA notes. Ok stout but a little immature for a BA example, lacks any real depth for 7%.

Flaska från The Drink Store, Dublin.

Fancy_Clown (15) - London, Surrey, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2013
Poured from bottle. Faint whiskey aroma, not much else. Bitter taste upfront, almost too bitter (and slightly sour?) but less so as your taste-buds acclimatize. Leaves a pleasant vanilla aftertaste that lingers quite a bit. Mouth feel lets it down a bit as at 7% and being a stout it doesn’t feel as viscous as I’d expect. Overall a decent beer, but I would’t seek it out again.

Sizzler80 (501) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 22, 2013
Jet black pour with a good tan lid. Roasted malt, cocoa, peat, whiskey, espresso. Bitter, fruity sweetness, alcohol warmth and medium soft carbonation.

Beersiveknown (5302) - NORTHERN IRELAND - JUN 12, 2013
Bottle at home from drinkstore
pours dark ruby mahogany, vanilla yoghurt nose. Initial fluffy head and collapsed quickly. Slight bonfire aroma. Very full bodied but low carbonation, sweet red berries, dry tobacco, apple skins, milky coffee and a building dry finish. Doesn’t seem its strength but a touch more carbonation could set it alight. As it stands a fairly tasty stout that I’d try again.

kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 9, 2013
The head is stable, the body black. It smells sweet, sour-roasty. The taste is a bit sour, black-roasty, sweet, intensive maltaromatic, interesting and balanced. In the aftertaste still interesting but less intensive. Great stuff! 13/14/13/12/-/14

ciaranc (1306) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAY 13, 2013
Deep mahogany brown, wonderful off white head. Irish whiskey, not overdone, backed by roast malt. Fantastic flavour, dominated by that wood, whiskey essence. Finish is long, malt and alcohol warming.

kathouse (1940) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Black with a creamy tan foam. Aroma was not a typical bourbon, but was oak and grainy alcohol instead. Whiskey flavor was dominant and not well balanced with the roasted malts. Although not necessarily a bad beer, it wasn’t smooth.

culchiem (4155) - Berlin, GERMANY - APR 2, 2013
Draught. Jet black with a thin head. Liquorice aroma. Flavour is sweet malt, fruity chocolate with a little turf and smoke.
