COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 961 Porter is a take on the traditional Engish beer that originates from the pubs of London. The Porter is brewed in the classical manner, using dark roasted malts with a rich addition of Crystal malts, and is hopped with English varieties. This beer, with 5.6% ABV, has complex aromatic notes of caramel, coffee, raisins, chocolate, nut and toast.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops, yeast.

Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, spicy malt - spicy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy, thyme - oregano ! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140328]

[email protected] Very deep brown colour with a small brown head. Aroma is herbs, grass, some mild toasted notes as well as some earth. Flavour is very similar with some nutty notes to it as well.

Bottled, thanks Bierkrug! Near black, small head. Rich coffee aroma. dryish with medium body and soft mouthfeel.Nicely roasty with lots of coffee and figs. Mid bitter finish. Tasty anmd well made.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2014 Bottle. Hazy brown color, small tan edge head. Aroma of coffee grounds. Taste is pleasantly roasty and light, easy to drink. My favorite of the night.

Bottle at Bishops Arms, Jönköping. Black beer with a beige head. Roasted chocolate aroma, strange spicy notes, caramel, licorice, some tar and bread. Roasted chocolate flavor, again with strange spices, fruity, vanilla, some tar. A bit odd.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out cardboardy notes, along with light toasted malt and oxidation. Flavour is pretty much identical. Not very pleasant at all. Oxidized and cardboardy. Drain pour.
