12 oz. single, $2 at Binny’s. I’d think more people would’ve rushed for this one to be able to tick off the heretofore unobtainable Lebanon on their stats. My experience with beers made in both Israel and Palestine have found they didn’t travel well (in a friend’s luggage, anyway). But this has come over much better. A roasty malt smell, maybe more apt for a stout, perhaps. Black body with bubbles clinging to the sides like a cola, pours a thick head that dwindles away. Taste is also a bit more roasty than I expect for a porter, though not a stout. A little sweet, though. Mouthfeel is kind of light and thin. Still, many overseas beers without a lot of abv don’t come over here in this decent of a shape.

Bottle from Terre De Boissons, Centre Commercial Cite Europe, Calais, France. Black-brown coloured with a thick tan head of foam. It has a milk chocolate and coffee flavour with malty, nutty and roasted notes on the smooth milk chocolate finish. Pretty good.

Koelschtrinker (21318) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 17, 2017
Gut. 9/10/10/10/8/10

Bottle from Biertempel: Aroma is malty and roasty, dark chocolate and coffee. Almost black color, low brown head. Flavor is malty and roasty with some acid, lots of dark chocolate, cacao beans, roastiness. Toffee, some nutiness, coffee.

33cl bottle. A black beer with a mid-sized most good lasting tan head. Aroma of dark mild roasted malt, coffee, some lactose. Taste of roasted dark malt, coffee, chocolate, raisins, lactose, okay!

JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - JAN 29, 2017
Dark brown with a moderate light tan head. Dry aroma, with some toasted malt and mocha. Somewhat watery feel. Dry flavors, with toasted wheat bread, light cocoa and weak coffee. 2/13

Aroma: roasty; Appearance: dark black with thin, white head; Taste: classic porter upfront but nothing behind it; Palate: watery; Overall: not so good.

ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - JUL 20, 2016
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Columbia, SC. The appearance is a nice black color with a small tan head. The aroma is malt, plain and simple. The taste is smoky malt. A very enjoyable beer.

Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 7, 2016
Pretty much zero carbonation. Reasonably sure this got lightly infected at some stage. Some light acidity in a bit of chocolate. Not for me.

wombat23 (1665) - Texas, USA - MAY 10, 2016
Shared bottle. Pours dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma is fairly malty, a little burnt, light roast. Taste is burnt dark malts, earth, ash, and nuts. Weak and watery for a porter. Lacks oomph.

vidmidia (286) - Vila Velha, BRAZIL - DEC 29, 2015
Marrom escura, opaca. Espuma rala, âmbar, de curta duração. Aroma defumado e ácido. Sabor ácido, levemente adocicado, com notas defumadas, de café e chocolate amargo. Retrogosto ácido com final levemente metálico.
