Bottle 341ml. [Bottle 2011/12] Pours dirty brown with high creamy beige head. Intense lacing, clinging to the glass. Aroma is of malt, bread, weird hops. Taste is of malt, intense bread, sweet, bold cloying bitterness. Palate: Ligth-medium body. Overall: Bottle is one year old. Did’nt check when buying. Well I should have know. Then again, what is this stuff doing on the shelve? Anyways, this beer is dead, and the malt seems problematic (I suspect it always was, but was well hidden behind hops and stuff).

My bottle [330ml] shared with garthicus & HogTownHarry. Pours a murky amber-copper with a large semi-lasting fluffy off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma, resiny and spicy, with some malt in the back. Flavour has lots of spicy hops and a big bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Quite enjoyable.

341ml bottle shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Hazy copper, large-ish off-white lasting head. Sharply dry aroma, strong dried floral bitterness, slightly perfumey, just a hint of spice and crushed leaves. Taste - very spicy, definitely some warming alcohol in there, a bit of jasmine and marigold - really interesting! Average body, very astringent, moderately carbonated, with a very long dry floral/spicy bitter finish, but not palate-overwhelming. Very nice stuff!

Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Cloudy ruby red, thick off white head. Aroma: Lovely hoppiness, strawberry, sweet, perfumish too. Flavour: Sweet, spicy, strawberry, quite a good hop punch, a somewhat sticky mouthfeel, a little boozy but it all seems to work well. Quite the bitter finish. Lovely.

341 ml bottle. Pours an orange-amber with a nice white head. Smells a lot like citrus. Tastes like caramel and oranges, somewhat earthy. Very bitter, herbal-citrusy finish. Body is average and resinous. Excellent IPA.

In short: A bottle of sticky resinous bitter hop resin. For hopheads only
How: Bottle 341ml. Consumed uber-fresh a few days after the beer release
The look: Redish-copper body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose is heavily resinous leafy and citrusy hops. Taste has a sweet semi-toasted malt backbone that blends cookies and barley candy lollipops. But those sweet malts are very quickly overtaken by the hard hitting resinous hops. Very resinous, citrusy and very bitter. The strong bitterness is oily and very sticky. To compare this to another local I’d say this is a less boozy and more resinous version of the Dunham Pale Ale Imperiale. A few years ago it was absolutely impossible to find such IPAs in Quebec (onslaughts of bitter hops) but this is rapidely changing. Time changes everything, for instance 30 minutes ago this bottle of beer was full. I hate time.

Bouteille 341ml.
