COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The best barley of all grows on the Magdalen Islands. We harvest the windblown, salt-kissed grains and use them to concoct a malt with a maritime accent that gives our beers their unique character. Come to our microbrewery À l'Abri de la Tempête, relax by the sea shore and dip your lips in a brew as fine as spindrift.

Diogène (1208) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 12, 2007
Pale golden with a thick foamy head. Aroma is malty with some sugar Flavor is malty, some herbal notes, a little watery, but way less then other beers of this type. Not a very complex beer, but very enjoyable on a hot summer day and more interesting than a lot of lagers.

Aucun arrière-goût âcre, mais elle n’’a pas un goût assez fort pour moi. Bonne pour une bière à faible pourcentage d’alcool.

Boutip (6533) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 25, 2007
Bottle: Poured a slightly murky yellow color ale with a big foamy head with average retention. Aroma of salty malt and slightly funky yeast is intriguing to say the least. Taste is a mix between some salty malt with a funky yeasty finish kind of resembling a light saison. I’m not sure that the taste was intended that way and kind of wondered if it is slightly infected or past its due date. In any case, interesting beer from an interesting brewery.

DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2006
Orange hops aroma, with malt and some fruit characters, opaque amber, slim white head. Crisp hops taste, and malt mixed with spicey fruit. Light bodied, tangy/spicey. Fair.

rsans (125) - Pont-Rouge, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 1, 2006
(341ml bottle) Aroma: hardly any, just a touch of light malt. This is a very mild and somewhat watery beer. Weak and flat mouthfeel with no aftertaste. Nothing really offensive about this beer but nothing pleasant either.

2.8
hobgoblin (163) - St-Épiphane, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 29, 2006
Bottle. Golden color, bubbles and thin white head. Hops and wheat aroma. Taste is motly citrus and grapefruist, wheat. Quite refreshing, not bad. Bière de couleur doré avec des bulles dans sa robe et un mince collet blanc. Odeur d’houblon et de blé. Goût d’agrumes, de pamplemousse et de blé. Pas mauvaise et elle est pas mal rafraichissante.

GRM (4180) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 27, 2006
Brown bottle, 341 ml, bottled in February 2006, purcahsed on April 13, 2006; eye: pale straw, white head that disappears almost instantly, a bit of effervescence; nose: damp corn, malt, salt; mouth: not much taste, a bit of wet corn, a bit of bitterness, very slightly sweet, light body, thin and watery texture, a bit of carbonation, no finale per se, absolutely no comparison to the sample I had at the 2005 Montréal’s Mondial de la bière en 2005 where I fell for its salty side; overall: big disappointment FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 341 ml, embouteillé en février 2006, acheté le 13 avril 2006; oeil : paille pâle, mousse blanche qui disparaît presque aussitôt, un peu d’effervescence; nez : maïs mouillée, malt, sel; bouche : peu goûteuse, un peu de maïs mouillé, un peu d’amertume, très légèrement sucrée, corps léger, texture mince et aqueuse, un peu de carbonatation, pas de finale pour dire, absolument aucune comparaison avec ce que j’avais goûté au Mondial de la bière en 2005 où le côté salin de la bière m’avait ravi; en résumé : grosse déception

Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 26, 2006
341ml bottle. Clear yellow color with a little ring acting as a head. Not much aroma. Thin watery body with an oily texture. Starts with some corn-like cereal then moves on to some mildly bitter hops. Short finish. Light on taste. Boring. There are many high ratings for this beer, maybe I missed something but Macho Law prohibits me from admitting I’m wrong.

SocietyDweller (5) - CANADA - MAR 11, 2006 does not count
Easy drinking beer. Refreshing. Malt and cereal flaver. Should be good during hot summer day.

2.6
Quevillon (3175) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 7, 2006
Bu au Mondial de la Bière 05. Très légé, un goût de céréal anormal. Probablement c’est le sel de mer qui fait un effect négatif sur cette bière.
