3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, at home, drinking it as I’m writing. Golden-red color, small head. Aroma, light citrus, very herbal/floral. Taste is a mix pine spices, very smooth. Finish is a bit abrupt. What is this, an IPA, can’t be, an APA? In a way it is one of a kind PA. With Corne de Brume from À l’abri de la Tempête, another very good beer.
Cloudy orangish pour, larger head, gobs of lacing. Aroma of herbs and citrus, pine, a bit soapy (as all their light beers seem to be). Tropical fruit gives way to herbal bitterness in the taste. Medium body. Definitely interesting. Arcanor (421) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 22, 2016
UPDATED: FEB 12, 2017 341ml bottle, best before 2017-01-22. Pour hazy orange with a none lasting lively white foam. Only a cloud and a ring stays. Aroma is of resinous hops, pin tree and notes of soap. Taste is herbal and spices. Average carbonation, salty and oily. Nice herbal and moderate bitter finish. Cloudy amber color with a powerful amount of activity. Frothy beige 3 finger head, lasting around 10 to 15 minutes, creating thick legs. Flavors of citrus orange and lemon, tropical fruits, herbal spices, caramel, floral, faint pine and roasted grains. Moderate amount of sweetness still with a thick bitterness. Smooth slick full body with an almost perfect zesty crispy carbonation. Strong and long finish, but still well intensified, ending with a butterscotch feel, thick citrus, grassy bitter hops, and sweet pine tar tongue coat. Overall excellent quality craft. Delicious flavors, superb balance, with a strong but pleasant finish that still feels very fresh. I really like the complexity and the strong floral presence. Filling and satisfying drink. guil0000 (433) - New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 24, 2016
Pours a hazy golden color with a hint of copper/red. Small quickly dissapearing white head. Nose of floral hops mainly we also get some standard pale malt.Hints of tropical fruit as well. A bit of pine too. Mouthfeel is a bit dry. Not much carbonation. Feels a bit flat. Medium sweetness and medium dry lingering hoppy finish. plaugher (478) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - AUG 6, 2016
12oz bottle pour. Pours a very slightly cloudy golden copper with thin white head that sticks around,, and light to moderate lacing. Piney nose with grapefruit and loads of floral and herbal notes. Slight sweetness with a lasting dry bitterness. A bit resinous on the palate. Curious and complex.

Bottle. Hazy golden-orange body, medium white head with good retention and plenty of lacing. Aroma of lemongrass, caramel, honey, peaches, orange candies. Taste of herbs, grapefruit zest, pine, honey, oranges. Oily and a bit harsh, but overall nicely done. Gluepot (640) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 8, 2015
Nose is citrus, bready malt and candy cane. The taste profile picks up on the candy cane and citrus theme in the nose, including, lemon, pine, orange and peppermint making it a zesty and refreshing hop lead. Spices and floral hops come out later in the taste profile. A nice medium-high effervescence punches up the refreshment factor. Tasty, but could use a few balancing elements. Moderate hoppy aroma of pine and citrus, lemon/lime, slight dough yeast as well. Nice appearance. Huge, lasting, white head with excellent lacing over a hazy bottle conditioned medium amber body. Initially the flavor is lightly sweet with moderate bitter but then the sweetness seems to kick in and wham it hits you with a bitter finish. The finish long and bitter. Light to medium dry texture with fizzy carbonation. Rustique IPA, it sure is! Cheers! Beardbeerman (341) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 28, 2014
341ml bottle served chilled around 8 degrees in a snifter:
Pour a dark orange color with a certain haze. I got three finger of an off-white frothy head which showed outstanding retention and lacing properties. Towards appearance, this brew scores many points.
The nose is sweet, yeasty an sweaty. There should be some piny hops but I didn’t really get them. I did, however, get a strong buckwheat aroma perhaps resulting from the blending of all the aromas or the presence of buckwheat in the beer itself. Since the list of ingredients does not appear on the bottle, I can’t confirm that information.
On the tongue this brew is quite aggressive with a hoppy/piny (even soapy) punch and once again that buckwheat element previously mentionned does come through. The brew is dense and heavy with an oily feel and finishes ultra bitter. I can’t say I got any breadiness or caramel from the malts so there is a slight miss there for the balance.
Overall I enjoyed this brew even if I thought the soapy attack pushed the malts out of the picture a bit. Bitter fans out there would certainly like it. Cheers!
