Citric aroma. Very light colour. Well balanced taste. Pleaseant palate, alcohol content doesn’t ruin this. I’m no fan of strong pale beer but this one did qualify. Gangstergafje (1347) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - OCT 18, 2017
18-10-2017; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in Tallinn, Estonia).
The looks of the beer are fine. The color of the beer is a nice golden yellow. The beer is crystal clear. On top a nice layer of rough white foam is formed. Foam retention is rather low. A thin drape is left after minutes. Some slight lacing is left. Not bad, but not extremely special.
The smell of the beer is nice. It is quite a sweet smell. I smell sweet malts, some fruity touches and simple bitter hops. The alcohol is also present in the smell, and also gives a certain sweetness. I also smell some yeast, giving a creamy thing.
The taste of the beer is nice. It has the same nice sweet malts, but overall it is less sweet than the smell. The hops give a nice bitter balancing taste. The hops are a bit herbal, which is nice. Besides this, I taste some sweet alcohol. Nice. The beer is in good balance.
The palate of the beer is average. Medium body, slightly thin texture and high carbonation. The finish of the beer contains some nice sweet malts, an almondy alcohol flavour and some bitterness from the hops. All in all, quite a nice beer. I like it. Nekronos (4213) - Xalapa, MEXICO - MAY 14, 2012
Very nice. Not really like a standar Bock but fine commercial one. Quite strong but not tiring with nice head and aroma. kschep (1707) - DENMARK - JUN 10, 2010
strong flavours of malt, rotten fruit and a nutty end, this is one of the better double bocks I’ve yet come across. sunevdj (4143) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2007
Pours a clear pale yellow with a tiny white head. Sweet and malty. HInt of alcohol and almonds. Medium dry. Medium to high fizzy carbonation. Dry finish with a hint of alcohol.

Rated on the hedonism scale here--this is a light, airy, fruity beer that hides its ABV exceedingly well. Not remotely like the brutal over-the-head burn of a Slavic strong lager, and welcome for it. Not much else going on--a bit of bitterness on the finish, and a grapefruit-y taste throughout. JoeMcPhee (10129) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2011
7.0% ABV 500 ml bottle. Pale straw coloured pour with a thin white head. The aroma is fairly light with no really obvious sweet character nor the nasty sort of phenolics that I would typically associate with these. A little bit of apple flavour along with a touch of moderate sweetness. Pretty light and smooth with a little bit more punch than is typical, but it’s not the malt liquor craptasticness I was expecting. Decent actually.
