Imperial Gold is a premium lager with a rich and full-bodied taste. The valuable malt delivered from Scotland gives it a deep golden colour and a thick head. The taste and appearance of A. Le Coq Imperial Gold are as worthy of royal attention today as they ever were.

400ml bottle (Rimi, Tallinn)
Pours a rich gold, with a huge persistent tight, almost rocky, head. Does have nice aromatic noble hops in the aroma, with some soft sweet malts behind that. Typical lagery palate, a bit watery, with some crisp carbonation. Taste does have a fair bit of barley to it, I don’t think its an adjunct lager at all. Quite a good Czech pilsner hoppiness. Make this unfiltered, and this would actually be good.Finish does have some bitterness, more than most A le Coqs. This is a good tasty lager.

400ml bottle shared by djoeye. Clear golden body. Slowly diminishing white head, good lacing. Moderate smell of pale malts and hay. Mild citrus flavours on a pale malty backbone. Mild and dry bittersweet end. Medium bodied. Above par for the style, I would say (Tromsø 10.11.2013)

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2014 400 ml bottle. E/J. BB 28/03/14. From Estonia. Thanks a lot Thomas!
Clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Grainy malt, Play-Doh, fresh mint and mild hops in the aroma. The flavour is pretty much the same, grainy malt, alcohol (surprisingly much for a 4.8% brew), boring grassy hops and vegetably elements. The bottle and the label gives an impression that this is something else than your average Baltic lager. Well, it isn’t.

Also tasted as Grāfs fon Zīverss Lager.
