Draft at the brewery One of their best. The ale poured a dark brown color with a small off white head and lacing. You detect sweet chocolate on the nose. The taste was more complex with some bittering hops and chocolate malt. Great IPA with a medium body and average carbonation. Nicely done with a clean finish with some pine resin notes.. hopscotch (11181) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 22, 2014
Draft... Pours lightly-hazed and dark brown with a small, creamy off-white head. Good retention. The aromatic highlights are milk chocolate and pine. Full-bodied and creamy with Key West carbonation. The flavor is a marriage of dark chocolate sweetness and piney bitterness. Bittersweet, roasty, resiny finish. A well-balanced, hoppy brown ale. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAY 2, 2014
Lightly hazed brown pour with tan head and lace. Light chocolate and roasted malt and some pretty nice hop bitter. Flavor mirrors aroma except it has a nice hop bitter finish. Meidum bodied with good carbonation. an ok beer by me 7-4-7-4 LilBeerDoctor (4128) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2014
On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, roasted malt, hop oils, grassy hops. Flavor of grassy hops, tropical fruits, citrus, with roasted malt in the finish. Quite hoppy/fruity, dominating over the roasted brown ale notes. Still a nice brown IPA, plenty hoppy.

In the taproom. Tried right after the Alvin’s brown. Liked this better. Pine and citrus up front and cocoa and sugar later. Tangy finish. Interesting. 7.2

Resin, grapefruit, bitter, dry, pine, alcohol warmth, did I say bitter?, med - light body, not enough malt or body for any brown I’ve ever had. It’s a good beer, but if you want it to adhere to a style - don’t. tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Draft at source. Brown pour, white head. Good retention/lace. Aroma of toffee, light citrus, light roast. Moderate bitterness, pine, citrus, toffee, light roast. Palate is slick, oily, bitter finish.

on tap-tan head with trailing lace-mahogany. A-soft roast. T-roast/caramel-med malt, 2nd pine hops. rdixon77 (2944) - Georgia, USA - OCT 16, 2013
Growler shared by Michael at a tasting - Thank you!
Another awesome beer and awesome name. Deep brown body with nice off white head. Sweet aroma with chocolate and nuts, but had a nice hop presence at well. Taste had nice dark roasted and chocolately malts with an earthy, slightly piney aftertaste. Medium-bodied mouthfeel makes it super drinkable. Love the sort of brown-ipa style. drowland (8938) - Georgia, USA - OCT 14, 2013
10/13/13. Growler shared by Michael - thanks! Brown pour with a nice tan head. Lightly hoppy, citrus comes though slightly, dank and resiny as well, with mild cocoa and nuttiness. Good flavor, nutty, chocolate, dank pine shining through timidly. Tasty.
