COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: previously known as "Aarhus Høstbryg".

Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to Ronny. Pours amber-brown with a small, tan cap. Sugary brown bread on the nose, some cardboard. Good and malty flavor with rich bread, toasty sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Rich and bready toast to finish, low bitterness. Good balance. Very tasty. Simple, yes, but good too.

Vom Fass. Klare Bernsteinfarbe, cremiger Schaum. Hopfen und Trockenfrüchte in der Nase. Säuerlich-holziger Antrunk. Dann verbranntes Karamel und Bitternoten. Etwas Honig. Für ein ESA unterbewertet!

Copenhagen 28/7 2017. 60 cl bottle from Rema1000. Painting of the Frigate Jutland on the label. Pours clear amber with small white head. Moderate lacing. Settles as thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Aroma is strong and slightly harsh. Sweet malts, cider-ish fruitiness and a distinct whiff of alcohol. Low carbonation and surprisingly thin palate. Flavor is quite sweet followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet apple. Hides it high ABV quite well. But a bit too thin to be truly satisfying.

On tap @Ølfred - Aarhus Streetfood. Pours golden amber, with small white-ish top. Sweet maltness, taste of wood, long sweet taste. Small amount of caramel? Too sweet for more than one pint.

- Not all bad, local and locally-inspired English strong ale adding cane sugar, apple juice and the awareness of Doppelbock. Makes for quite a superficial, calvados-fumey lightbrown brew, forwarding neither apple, malt nor (quite bitter, not quite woodsy) hops, instead just seasonal 8%. Maybe slightly past its prime, if it had one.

Bottle, 50cl. Pours ruby red, warm golden with minimal light tan/off-white head. Sweetish and alcoholic aroma. Sugary, candy and alcohol of taste and mouthfeel. Flavour develops little acid and apples with moderate bitterness. Decent long finish of brown sugar, spices, dark fruits and more alcohol. Yeah, its a bit boozy. Medium-full bodied, oily texture with soft to average carbonation. Pretty standard strong ale.
