A danish, black Imperial Stout with very low, brown head and brewed with unreffined cane sugar. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, caramel, rye bread, light prune. Taste is light bitter sweet. A bit thin, mild.

Draught at Peter Gift. Pours a murky chocolate brown with a thin tan head that holds. Not much going on the nose, metallic, light toffee chocolate. Light sweetness, light coffee bitterness, light boozy warmth at the end. Creamy carbonation, medium body. Slightly woody finish. Underwhelming.

(60 cl bottle courtesy of our Airbnb host, cheers!) Poured at room temperature into original glassware reveals a pitch black body with three finger toffee head that transforms into a fluffy one finger head after a few seconds. It seems to disappear after a minute however leaving no discernible lace. Some regeneration but it’s quick to fade. Aroma is somewhat weak with initial notes of roasted malt and a slightly metallic hint along with dust, straw and chalk. The aroma on this one is a huge disappointment given the ABV and it being served at room temperature. On the palate it leaves a rather unpleasant taste like having licked an ashtray with bitterness and notes of roasted grain. Oily to water texture, medium body, soft carbonation and the aforementioned drying bitter roasted finish. Flavour is thin and ashy. Very disappointing.

08-AUG-2015, bottle @home, present from Erik, thx. 😄 Dark, dark brown with tan head. Very sweet malt. Caramel, almost buttery. Dark berries. Never burnt and hardly very roasted. Medium+ body, soft carbonation. I am not all that fond of this.

StilleStorm (1535) - Stavanger, NORWAY - AUG 6, 2015
DAAIÅ; Tap at Peter Gift. Poured moderate, black with a frothy to creamy, fading, still some lacing tan head. Nose is moderate to heavy, roasted malt, coffee and moderate dark dried fruit. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter with a moderate lasting, balanced, dry roasted and sweet dark fruit finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is avarage.

Imperial stout? More like uncarbonated cola.... but with the taste of a brown ale... *sigh* ... Aarhus bryghus..
