Starting to get a little skunky here. Thats the bad thing about getting beer from other countries. This is definitly a smoother bock than usual. If you can get past the skunky part, then this is a decent beer but I'm sure it's a lot better fresh in Norway.

Bottle from OSL. Dark reddish brown, almost clear with small cream head. Sweet malt, dough, something earthy. Leaves, herbs, lots of caramel and sweet lager. Nicer than I expected.

SaintMatty (7603) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2017
330ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Raisins, berries and a hint of leather in the aroma. Fruity and fairly sweet taste with malt, raisins, caramel and berries standing out. A decent and authentic bock.

It's a style I quite like, but sadly this doesn't cut it for a dunkler bock on a wintry late october night--too hoppy, not enough malt character, not ANY alcohol detectable, in general it's a light dark ale and nothing else (11.2 oz bottle, OSL duty-free)

Kauge (2131) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 15, 2017
Bottle, gift from Helsinki. BB 20.02.2018. Medium brown with light beige head. Pretty delicate nutty malt aroma, earthy, leafy, somewhat herbal even. Tastes modest malty sweet upfront and continues dry leafy-earthy bitterish. Body lightish medium, carbonation fine but in a way fizzy. Pretty nice.

brewberg (16) - Drammen, NORWAY - SEP 21, 2017
Nice aroma with both some clear caramel and some hidden dark fruits and toast. My senses might have played me a little trick but I am quite sure there was a some really subtle traces of banana there. Clear brown/dark brown color with a red hue, with notable sparkling bubbles to it. Frothy white/tan head. A distinct sweetness in the taste that is a little overpowering which again made it a bit difficult to find some of the more hidden malty aromas. The beer has a light-medium body with a thin an watery texture with some stings from the carbonation. Not the liveliest of liquids but lively enough for a lager, no burn from the alcohol

thellgren (1164) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 10, 2017
0.33 l bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Appearance is brown, clear and with a nice head. Taste has liquorice combined with sweet malts. Nice balanced strong beer with an edge.

33cl bottle, Alko. The beer pours mahogany color, thin white head. Nutty, bready, mämmi aroma and flavor. Heavy malty and nutty indeed. Rye, liquid bread, hops, molasses. Medium to full bodied. Long finish of bread and caramel. Tasty bock.
