Steib (613) - Queen Creek, Arizona, USA - DEC 4, 2003
Dark dirty brown color with a minimal head. Malty, nutty aroma. Not as sweet as I expected. Full-bodied in its flavor. A fairly dry-roasted aftertaste. I believe the GREEN bottle sat for awhile on the shelve. Don't know if this helped it any or not. It was still a pleasing beer. ClarkVV (6958) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 26, 2003
Pours a ruddy yellow-orange, with some nice white head. Effervescent and moderately clear, has a light fruit aroma, apples, pears, brown sugar and malt. Wonderful clear and crisp flavor. Dosent water down, improves as it warms and has a nice soft malt flavor with lots of grains. Mildly spiced, no alcohol present. Probably one of the best light beers I've had. Subtle, well balanced, no earth shattering flavors, but hey it's a low gravity, low abv vienna. whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 24, 2003
Deep amber color, medium-high carbonation, and a heavy lacing beige head. Rich and sweet caramel malt and prominent diacetyl. Rather tasty. Initial smooth and velvety palate does become a little chalky after awhile. Seems like a fine example of the Vienna style overall. For a lager, this beer kicks aass.
wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 24, 2003
33 cL bottle, goblet. Very large, frothy, creamy, off-white head is well lasting and sits on a deep brown body with crimson edges that's opaque in the middle. A great looker. Nutty, cookie, baker's cocoa malt (heavy); herbish hops (light); plum, raisin, merlot, oak, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar. Somehow it's not quite as good as I just made it sound. Taste comes across as a watered down tawny port. Heavily sweet throughout with a light acidity in the finish. Medium-heavy body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. The bottom line is: there's a strange sweetness to this one...hey is that gnome looking at me funny? hopscotch (11420) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2003
Crystal clear copper lager. Small, white, fizzy head that is almost fully lasting and leaves honeycomb lacework.
The nose is beefy with notes of nickel or copper.
Malty, lightly smokey and well-balanced. Hearty for a low gravity beer.
Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Lengthy, dry, grassy finish.
CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 2, 2003
(5oo ml Can) Deep copper body and a medium, almond head. Nose of toffee. Flavours of sweet malt, pine needles, cinnamon and tinny. A thin, dry malted finish! Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - SEP 21, 2003
Dark amber red color.Medium sized off white head, that lasted for some time.Malty, caramel aroma, very faint hops.Sweet caramel taste light malt and nicely sweet with a hard to detect amount of hops. The after taste is caramel and malty with a decent non in your face sweet side. This is a very nice brew and the price makes it even better. BeerLimey (2155) - California, USA - AUG 10, 2003
Toasted malt aroma, slightly creamy. Malty palate, plenty of fruit, toasty with gingerbread flavor and dry roasted finish. DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2003
Malt, caramel aroma, copper colour, with a small toffee head. Caramel, toffee and treacle flavours. Nicely bitter. Sweet, warming, light bodied, easy drinking. A really tasty beer. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 5, 2003
Dark amber brown with a medium tan head. Smells of pine needles and malts. Taste is abrasive, like a floor wax with a pine needle scent. Very sharp, with flavors of raisens, mint, pine, and soap. Can't say I enjoyed this one at all.
