Sweet, caramel aroma. Clean, crisp taste, and an almost dry aftertaste. Interesting and complex. Very flavorful with strong malt presence.

Affectionately referred to as "the Gnome Butt Beer" around my place, this beer is clean crisp and sweet. Sharing similarities with a nice red wine. A great beer for sipping.

one of the first christmas beers i tried in the early 90’s it seems to be the same and still has those flovors that seem difficult to achive by just using malt. i miss the old labels with santa skating with a barrel under his arm

Sweet malt aroma, roasty malt flavor, average Vienna........................

Pours a deep garnet, the head is generous and beige, the lace is decent. Nose is light toasted grains, a hint of caramel. The start is sweet, the top is light, the finish is dry, lightly carbonated, the hops are light, but a fair to middlin beer at any rate. Ranks #759 on my master beer list.

JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUN 3, 2002
Dark amber color with a light moderate head. Toast and toffee malt flavors. malt dominates with a slight spicy hops flavor and finish. Nicely balanced and drinkable.

I think the commercial description is pretty accurate. Deep copper color. Definate sweetness. Smooth finish. Not a huge fan though. Something just didn’t work for me.

Sweet aroma, beautiful chestnut color, very little head, sweet hoppiness with lite carbonation and dry finish. Excellent brew.

Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - APR 12, 2002
The malt here, aroma and taste, is handled beautifully. I don’t find it as crisp as others here, but not cloying either. Definite hints of caramel/toffee and some faint spiciness. Hop tinges, almost imperceptibly weakly, at the finish. Very very drinkable.

This beer is interesting. It has a wet palate, but a dry aftertaste. I like the caramel flavor which is also very noticeable in the aroma.
