Sweet, caramel aroma. Clean, crisp taste, and an almost dry aftertaste. Interesting and complex. Very flavorful with strong malt presence.

ABV 4.7 % in 2017.

330ml bottle. Aroma of roasted malt with some caramel notes. A bit metallic. Nice dark amber color body with an off-white head. Medium sweet taste with a light bitter ending.

Bottle. Amber colour with a tan head. Caramel nose with some fruity hints. Moderate sweet caramel and fruity flavour. One of few ok norwegian grocery store christmas beer.

Mezcalmannen (514) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 15, 2012
A clear dark amber/brown colour, whilst the head is off-white. Moderately malty aroma, taste is also malty, some roast and a slight cardboard feel. (Bottle)

Without the extra fullness and balance more alcohol strong beers provides, it was to unbalanced for me. It still has a good Christmas feel, with some roasted malt, caramel, spice and a nice touch of Christmas baking. This is also one of the more full-bodied beers from Norwegian grocery stores, even if it does not give enough balance.

Oysteib (112) - NORWAY - DEC 28, 2011
From bottle. Brown, clear. Surprisingly refreshing for a christmas beer. Well balanced sweetness and bitterness with nice fruity aromas.

Bottle enjoyed at home
Red/brown clear, beige head. Smells of caramel with hints of caramel, also some malts. Quite malty taste, some sweetness and caramel. Miss some body, guess the low alcohol has to do with it. Thin mouthfeel, some bitter finish. A descent lower end abv christmas beer

visionthing (5595) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 24, 2011
Can. Amber with a small head that disappears. Sweet fruit, metal and rather thin. A bit strange, but drinkable.

tfredvik (2074) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 22, 2011
Another christmas beer with the standard medium brown body and short-lived off-white head. Virtually no lacing. Very very sweet malty aroma with fruity notes. Brown sugar. Moderate sweet taste and a light bitterness in the finish. Malty flavours with dark fruits. Quite ok, but far too watery.
[33 cl bottle, from Kiwi Valle, Oslo]
