The smell certainly doesn’t give away the taste. I thought the beer would be more bitter, but I was pleasantly surprised. tigerbone8 (3) - Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA - JAN 13, 2002 does not count
very complex taste, smooth and very malty. The hints of spices in this one are very interesting indeed, a good surprise to your tastebuds!!! JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUN 3, 2002
Dark amber color with a light moderate head. Toast and toffee malt flavors. malt dominates with a slight spicy hops flavor and finish. Nicely balanced and drinkable. mixamatt (427) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 21, 2002

Pours a ruddy yellow-orange, with some nice white head. Effervescent and moderately clear, has a light fruit aroma, apples, pears, brown sugar and malt. Wonderful clear and crisp flavor. Dosent water down, improves as it warms and has a nice soft malt flavor with lots of grains. Mildly spiced, no alcohol present. Probably one of the best light beers I've had. Subtle, well balanced, no earth shattering flavors, but hey it's a low gravity, low abv vienna. GermanBrews76 (680) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 13, 2003
cloudy throughout. Tons of barley in the nose, I like that familiar Aass aroma. Nice and malty, with a dry-ish finish. Sweet stuff. hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2003
Crystal clear copper lager. Small, white, fizzy head that is almost fully lasting and leaves honeycomb lacework.
The nose is beefy with notes of nickel or copper.
Malty, lightly smokey and well-balanced. Hearty for a low gravity beer.
Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Lengthy, dry, grassy finish. wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 24, 2003
33 cL bottle, goblet. Very large, frothy, creamy, off-white head is well lasting and sits on a deep brown body with crimson edges that's opaque in the middle. A great looker. Nutty, cookie, baker's cocoa malt (heavy); herbish hops (light); plum, raisin, merlot, oak, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar. Somehow it's not quite as good as I just made it sound. Taste comes across as a watered down tawny port. Heavily sweet throughout with a light acidity in the finish. Medium-heavy body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. The bottom line is: there's a strange sweetness to this one...hey is that gnome looking at me funny?
