Sweet, caramel aroma. Clean, crisp taste, and an almost dry aftertaste. Interesting and complex. Very flavorful with strong malt presence.

Dark red/brown color with a small off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and dried fruit. Flavor of toasted malts, caramel and cherries.

To me, this is what a Norwegian beer is. They don’t smack you in the face, but have well rounded, very satisfying flavours. Decent head, nice colour, excellent flavour. Bottle.

Assertive without being too bitter or strong, notwhithstanding a solid alcohol presence.

Pretty pleasant, with a nice spicy maltiness. Leaves the tongue tingling...

This beer is interesting. It has a wet palate, but a dry aftertaste. I like the caramel flavor which is also very noticeable in the aroma.

Panzuriel (2371) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - AUG 18, 2002
Affectionately referred to as "the Gnome Butt Beer" around my place, this beer is clean crisp and sweet. Sharing similarities with a nice red wine. A great beer for sipping.

Super malty flavor and aroma. Grainy tasting after you get through the malt shock, then sort of molasses-y and woody. Grainy palate. Decent, but I'm not overly impressed.

3.4
DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2003
Malt, caramel aroma, copper colour, with a small toffee head. Caramel, toffee and treacle flavours. Nicely bitter. Sweet, warming, light bodied, easy drinking. A really tasty beer.

3.4
Steib (613) - Queen Creek, Arizona, USA - DEC 4, 2003
Dark dirty brown color with a minimal head. Malty, nutty aroma. Not as sweet as I expected. Full-bodied in its flavor. A fairly dry-roasted aftertaste. I believe the GREEN bottle sat for awhile on the shelve. Don't know if this helped it any or not. It was still a pleasing beer.

3.4
Eyedrinkale (3235) - Astoria, New York, USA - MAR 2, 2004
Ruby red pour with big pink head. Malty and sweet dried fruit tastes throughout. Could use a bit more hops though.
