Not exactly a gourmet beer. Not too far away from their regular bayer. Malt-dominated when it should have beer a hoppy beer. Low fruitiness, quite like a lager. This beer is a typical example of how difficult it is for the established lager breweries too compete with the micros.

Bottle. Pours a clear, copper with some carbonation and an off-white head. The aroma is fruity-sweet, in a slightly artificial way, lightly roasted and with a vague hoppy note. The flavor is mostly roasted and caramel, but with an underlying artificial, sweet fruityness that lasts all the way. Medium body at max. Long caramel and fruity finish with a tad note of hops. I expected more from this one, they call it a gourmet beer, but in addition to miss the style, it feels a bit cheap. Dissappointing! (060718)

Bigespen (19) - Bagn, NORWAY - MAR 18, 2008
Not really wha I had hoped for. The nose has a low intensity, and not a lot of the flavours that I expect in a pale ale. It is light to medium bodied, with low intesity in the aromaes, and lacs concentration and lenght. Finishes clean
